New Tracks in Sept...........
Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 2:07 am - superskinny3
Hey, back again!! Just thinking here 'bout the new tracks due in Sept.....wondering what they'll be like? Seeing as the Gish Era tour will be in 2009 will they be heading back to heavy Pumpkin style(which is always great when youre pi**ed off)...always cheers you up too
About the Gish tour-is it based Stateside????Would LOVE if they headed back to Europe and I could catch a gig (or two).
About the people who are giving out about the small, intimate gigs that they think may be too expensive-they should consider themselves lucky to have the opportunity to see the band live in such cool surroundings rather than griping, moaning and driveling on about prices. Bigger picture guys!!!The opportunity to see (in my opinion) the greatest band-priceless.
I still really regret the fact that I was unable to travel to London for the album signing in Feb having flown to the U.K for the gig in Manchester. It would have been great to meet Billy in the flesh. So for you guys out there-get into the Pumpkins moment, enjoy the gigs and stop moaning about money...you can't take it with you when you're gone!!!

Am back!!!

Hey everyone,
Have been sick....really wiped me out over the last few weeks. Hope I didnt miss anything too exciting during my absence?
Any news on the Pumpkins on their kiwi journey?
I never got to finish off my tour episode.absolutely loved loved loved the gig in Frankfurt. People say the Irish are known for their friendliness, in Frankfurt they have some stiff competition..everyone was so so so nice!
The gig was great, managed to sneak my way to the front row..okay it took around 6 songs but I got there-(kept blaming others for "pushing" me!!ha ha). But it was so worth it to be right in front of Billy. The crowd were great, the gig rocked and Billy was giving it loads.
Such a great nite, a magical experience, happy memories from Feb 08.
Really enjoyed my Pumpkin trail while it lasted.

Pumpkins 2008
Monday, February 11, 2008 - 7:12 am - superskinny3
Well what can I say?
Headed to gig in Dublin, really enjoyed it. Today rocked as usual, sound was great, Billy was cool as ever & I was delighted to be back on the Pumpkin circuit again. Wahey!!
Heading to Manchester on Fri to see them again and then have managed to talk my brother to head to Frankfurt with me to see them. I have exhausted every favour & Xmas present in making these 3 gigs happen. Phew!!
Noticed however that at the recent gigs that Billy is at pains to welcome the newbies to the gigs...thats great but he hasn't bothered to welcome back the "old gang".
I wouldn't usually complain but I felt that it was a slight, as if we didn't count for much any more...I think it would be great if he welcomed the old & the new collectively when speaking to the crowd. Inclusion is very important nowadays!
Everyone that is at a Pumpkins gig is pretty darn glad to be there, has worked pretty hard to buy tickets, travel there and usually there is an overnight stay involved too.
I dont think thats its too much to ask Billy to say hi to all of us and to welcome us ALL to the gig?
I'm sure some of you think that this is daft but its just how I was feeling on the night.Didnt help that I was also getting over acute tonsilitus..singing voice was so so so screwed!!!
What do you think?

for all us SP fans! Hard to imagine that the SP machine cogs are back grinding away..really looking forward to the new American Gothic release on Jan 2nd. Exciting stuff indeed. 2007 was truly blessed with the re-emergence of the Pumpkins & the joy that was Zeitgeist!
Typically enough I am now wishing Jan away so I can then get all hyped up & happy for the Pumpkins tour,RDS Dublin, Arena Manchester and then Frankfurt,Germany. Cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!
Wahey wahey wahey
Wishing you all a Happy New Year & looking forward to hearing from you all soon.

Its so fab that the Pumpkins have finished off this leg of the tour safely & can get 2 months of R &R before the mayhem begins again. I must admit that I am wishing my life away & cannot wait until Feb & I see them in Dublin, Manchester & Frankfurt...will be a broke but happy bunny
Its amazing the happiness & euphoria you feel ie the feel good factor after a Pumpkins gig..its just super!!!!!.
You think you will grow out of these "phases" but its great to see that the important ones last.
I really hope that the new younger breed of Pumpkinettes (pumpkin fans) get the same enjoyment & happiness from the SPs as I have-theyve been great.
Thanks to Billy & the gang for making 2007 a great year.
Hugs to all

AAAHHHHH!!! So now Im flying to the UK & Germany when I could see them here in Ireland (both gigs are an hour away from my house).
What should I do???

......... a whole lotta sense! He has it so right when he says that blogs have become blabs, inane witterings & excuses for people to spout drivel. However upon reading his blog I feel the usual feelings....ie
Oh my God but the man has a way with words, he is so concise, apt & correct in his turn of phrases/ coinage of words.
I would consider myself to be quite eloquent but always feel a slight brain constipation upon reading BCs words.
He truly is gifted.
I agree that the Pumpkins have always stayed true to themselves & their vision/ideal for their music-thats why over the years I used to be disappointed when friends/colleagues/village idiots used to "diss" them. They however had never listened to a full song and appreciated the riffs, melodies, solos, harmonies & heartache involv ed for that one song.
I find that nowadays we are a world of petty begrudgers who are reluctant to recognise talent/true individuality. It is sad as we should celebrate talent/free thinking/uniqueness not huddle as sheep. BC has had to persevere against this tide of ill will/vindictive/petty behaviour & he is a better person due to it.
I enjoyed the blog as he spoke his mind,it wasnt seeking fan approval, looking to be liked, it was Billy at his most brilliant and best

I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Billy Corgan/Before they were rockstars/YouTube
Friday, September 14, 2007 - 4:20 pm - superskinny3
Was mooching on YouTube again...anyone seen the vid on You Tube showing Billy as a young boy making a home vid.Is this for real? It just shows how far he has come and what huge successes he has achieved. I really think that Billy is one of the unsung heroes of music, when you watch MTV these days its all hip hop and gangsta..........now don't get me wrong.Everyone is entitled to their own musical choice/viewpoint but I really feel that lyrically the SPs get overlooked so often. I remember so well even during the Nirvana/Smashing Pumpkins time during the early 90's how we would stay up half the night glued to MTV just hoping/waiting/wishing/praying for an SP sighting/vid. The MTV music awards was a big night-just hoping for a sighting of the band and going to bed really peeved if some other crap was on instead....
I know I am biased..being a huge fan but even if you dislike Billy, you cannot ignore the fact that lyrically he is a genius, musically he is very talented. The depth or variety between songs like Mellon Collie, Honestly, Doomsday Clock,God, Bodies, Zero, Marquis in Spades, Pennies, Geek usa...............etc etc I could go on and on. You get what I am saying I'm sure.
From an artistic perspective, their videos have always been unique-the SP's have grown up before our eyes, they have matured with us, their fans. From the ice-cream truck in Today...(who doesn't love the icecream man? What happy memories we all have of hols and the icecream man on your street and begging your mam for a few pence, offering to do any and every chore under the sun-eventually you persuade her only to see the damn van drive away in the distance-the f***er!) to the heady banquet scene in Zero, Ava Adore..man but that has to be one of my favourite vids-love costumes, heavy colours, make up, Billy's full length fitted frock coat to the softness of Perfect. Pure magic and inspired genius!!
As I have said repeatedly during my blogs and in conversations with friends, I have never found another band that have been able to match my every mood and life experience to date so aptly and lyrically like the Pumpkins have!! I doubt honestly that I ever will. I also believe that many of you feel as I do, its a great feeling that the band are back together. Its like an old friend returning, or seeing a lover after a while. You just slot back into that lovely comfortable feeling. Back into your niche, where you belong.
I'd would say that many of us did not realise the void or chasm that was left personally when the SPs went off the scene in 2000, yeah we got on with life, love and everything else but now the delight on this site shows hows overjoyed everyone is that their band is back. I'm not sure whether the band do actually dip in and out of conversations on the site, I know that if they did, the one positive they should take is the fact that so many people across the globe, well they are a heck of a lot happier now in the past while and that is mainly down to the reformation of the band. People who say that its not the true band due to the fact that D'arcy and Jimmy are AWOL well, thats just nit picking and being arseholes in my considered opinion. The essence, the energy, the togetherness and the joie de vivre that is the SPs is back and that is THE important fact.
Plus also if the band had not reformed-we as a wee gang or mini family would not have been in contact and its a nice feeling logging on and seeing how everyone is.
Anyway thats my rant over for today. Will get off my soapbox now!!
Goodnight and good morning to you all across the globe.
Hugsxxxxxx(smile)

Rude people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thursday, September 13, 2007 - 1:36 pm - superskinny3
Was looking up a few bits tonight and found Billy-seven questions on Youtube. Its where he did a 7 question slot when at a poetry night/gig/thingie.
Now instead of being delighted that Billy was chatting to the audience they started to heckle and shout stupid shite.
After a while they copped themselves on.
Now this leads me to my point, is it just me or are people just pig ignorant nowadays. In work I always stress the importance of being nice, treating others as you (hope) you would be treated and then my kiddies meet the folks at school gates and all you get is one grunt off a mom or your head bitten off another...in fact some folks are so rude/busy getting away that last year they ran over one of our staff members!!!I jest not!!
Old people too have gotten so surly. I offered an old lady my seat the other day on the train(didn't really want too-was trying to be nice) and she got into such a huff asking me what was I implying/that she was too old to travel unaided?
Offered to help another lady with her bag in the airport, on the way home from the SP gig in Glasgow, she was heavy, sweating profusely and looked unwell.Okay I did not know her but oh my God.........................jeez you would think that I was trying to steal the damn bag. She was so rude.
I don't know, I give up. Anyway there is a saying "what goes around comes around" and it is going to hit these people bigtime (hopefully)
What have your worst rude experiences been? Want to know bad behaviour not being pervy!!!!
