so i've been reading the user message boards almost everyday as of late, and I just can't quite grasp why people feel the need state opinions that have no logical basis to them. It's like you got this thirteen year old, greasy faced, slanty haired emo kid brooding over his 2,000 dollar computer that his parents bought him in middle american suburbia all pissed off about people feeding into coorporate america, and yet not really knowing what that means as he uses his parents credit card to buy hundreds of dollars worth of clothes and accessories at the local Hot Topic or equivilant...complaining about how artists are sell outs for making money and pushing their views on everyone...meanwhile he's the one buying the albums, buying the posters/tickets/merchandise but no it's the artists fault for making a living...are you serious? really? Because The Smashing Pumpkins came to your house, put a gun to your head and forced you to listen to their "doctrines" give me a [bad word removed]ing break...ideas are only "pushed" on you if you indulge in it. If you want to get angry at sell outs and coorporate greed, turn your angst to this American Idol Generation who walk around with the sense of entitlement, acting like society owes them something, get angry at the Insurance Companies who take and take and take our hard earned money and then deny medical services for the fact that you sneezed when you were five, get angry at the politicians who really do push their views on you and then sit on their asses all day in their nice cushy mansions and offices not really doing anything to fix the problems of this country or the world, but don't turn your misguided idea of "damning the man" onto the artists that make this world a little more bearable for the people like me that really do get dicked over on a daily basis. Do some research, get the facts straight and then tell me something i haven't heard before.
