So apparently I'm the reason that the message board shut down!
"Secondly, I want to say openly that I am optimistic about a return to our site hosting a message board. What I would need to see is a constructive framework that would allow a whole host of thought and opinion in a positive way that brings fans together, and not further divide them."
Well, probably not just me, but I guess that Billy isn't too genuinely keen on "criticism."

So how are you my friend?
I am so sorry that I havent been in touch sooner- for one reason or another, I wasnt online very much & sometimes I wasnt feeling very chatty either but I'm trying to make up for it now!
So how have you been? Thanx so much for the message you left for me about my review & even more so about my poems. When I read that you said you liked my poems & would read more, it really made my day (and night- as I'm a bit of a night-owl!). I really will try & post some more here & I write alot of them but find it hard to share them as I find it hard to write things that arent about me. I have just posted a new one though, about the way I've been and am feeling at the moment- which is pretty down- something I need to sort out really. But I guess thats easier said than done hey? I get the feeling that you might just understand what I mean....
By the way, I just read your poem "Little Julie" and it is truly amazing. I love the subject matter which you have dealt with and how you have dealt with it. I love the words used & the way it is written as there is almost a child-like quality to it which suits the poem so much and draws the reader even closer. Its almost like its from the childs point of view in places and that makes it so endearing. I felt by the end of it that 'Julie' was someone that I knew as the imagery you used was so realistic and clear. It was so easy to picture 'Julie' and the different things that had happened to her. It was so clever how you painted a picture of her personality and then elaborated on her experiences. I could really learn something from writings like this. Please keep writing- you are very talented, thanx for sharing. There are so many talented people on this site- dont you think? I find it a very good place to share any artistic skills as there is always someone who will appreciate it!
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello to you & thanks for the kind words about my poems. Also wanted to tell you how much I liked 'Little Julie' , which I think I did!
So I hope I hear from you soon & that you are well!
Take care & keep writing!

situation is ridculous. But there are a lot of people being put down on here. I've been sent some pretty shallow and disgusting messages, but that doesn't shut me up. lol
Have you heard from anyone, maybe pmm?

Concert

I didn't actually see them walk off stage. I just heard that it happened at a few concerts overseas because Billy wasn't happy with the fan reaction and whatnot. I didn't go to the last tout because it was the Zeitgeist tour and they'd play a bunch of Zeitgeist tracks. This tour won't be in support of the album, so the setlist will probably be more dynamic and varied. I imagine they probably won't play for three hours if they're playing smaller venues, which is ok by me. I saw The Cure play for three hours on their most recent tour, and as amazing as that show was, I wouldn't be able to take three hours of any band but The Cure. Still, if there is a good venue to see them at in my area, I'll probably get out to catch them.

I really wish I knew what was going on, but from what I could see, there isn't any way to contact the website administrators. I'm guessing that something went awry with the code when they did the last template change for the Gish pics request and the new "sinking Pumpkins" header, which professes to being a beta. As for the concert, if a date pops up in Dallas or Austin, I'll definitely go. I wasn't too interested in seeing the band in a stadium setting, but if they're gonna be playing to a smaller, packed house, I think the energy will be really amazing, and Billy may not even have to walk off the stage. =)

Would we vote for Smashing Pumpkins?

That’s sure, we are legitimate to want as the leader of our country, someone with strong values, someone we would be happy to see with more worth than ourself in matter of strenght, of depth, of goodness. And, I believe, he has the responsibility to make all in his possible to be this human being. In the same time, we know we have to be understanding for the weaknesses. We have only to read the Obama’s biography to see a lot of weaknesses, or otherley said, aspects of his personnality which could be problematic at White House. But the president is not alone. He has also the responsibility to be well surrounded. We have to judge the futur president (or prime minister in our case) not only on his politic program and values being attached to it but also on his personal values and habilities to lead a team. This team will be the Prime Minister not for the last decision but for all the construction of his decisions.
Smashing Pumpkins made the parallel with an election. How could we judge their leadership? Where is going our country? Are they using as a force their surrounding human forces? Are they listening to the citizens? Are they offering the opportunity to express themselves?
Are we voting for them no matter what they are making? Is it matter of heart or matter of mind? Could it be both in a satisfying way?
Who do we want to be here? Actors of our world or passive babies in the nest waiting to be nurtured?

about the comments: i was wondering, too. but i can also understand it...i think it´s just a pause. i could guess that maybe sp had enopugh of all the mourning people...many negative people there...i mean...about huhuhu how expensive the tickets are and why billy scrached his nose and why...and they have some responsibility for all the written stuff here...it takes time to approve all...well, well...will you go to a show?

it's eleusis...the road to...
i spelt it elyseum for some reason. spelt. spelled. they may have eaten spelt then too. i like it very much. especially in cookies - cranberry orange.
i like the road to elysium fields too. alas, life is such.

generative themes from andy's editorial

(compiled in one from another post i just posted)
reading that editorial - i was reminded of the "mythic" participation of the "rock concert" - more in psychological aspects found in "The Road to Elyseum." maybe it was revisiting some joe campbell documentaries lately, too. but i think that music concerts create an opportunity for that psychically - and in that way may be healing.
alas, these deeper aspects are not mentioned by the social scientists andy references. and we have no "forum" to discuss these things anymore....
oh well....
http://www.amazon.com/Road-Eleusis-Unveiling-Secret-Mysteries/dp/091514820X
joseph campbell references this work extensively in describing the dionysian myths and rites (and their reincarnations) - and the psychological purpose they serve.
when i participate in these experiences (co-create them) i feel i am "meeting my Self" - not necessarily "defining" myself - but encountering a Divine that is there in everyone and beyond us all. Somewhat "losing" my "s"elf.
but then. i am strange.... and jung at heart.
(and alas...it's just not "acceptable" among postmodernists to talk about these things anymore... ahem. that's passe to posties....)
that is not to say that i didn't enjoy andy's article though. (for any article-commenting-policers out there )
(speaking of....in that picture of billy "campaigning" from andy's editorial today, he looks as though he is about to bite. )
