This will be filmed and released on DVD later this year, as previously reported by Monte.

I unfortunately do not have a couple thousand bucks for me and my wife to go. I will try my luck for the $50 tix. If I can't get those, hopefully they will be back in the fall.

So i got two tickets and my third friend who wants to go missed out apparently since it sold out. Do you think this is just the presale that sold out, or the entire show?

Although, making my two friends compete over one ticket may be fun.

With pre-sales, they usually only alot a certain number of tickets to them. So I don't see how this would be any different. But you never know. Of course, it will be a tough ticket to get regardless since Metro can only hold a maximum of 1100 people.

I wish I still lived in Chicago, damn.

I'm in. I'm flying solo but I should've picked up a second. I wonder how many songs they'll play and if it'll be full on electric or an acoustic thing. It's a Cubs charity thing with Theo Epstein and Peter Gammons' band and I think there's maybe another band there too. Even if they just play a few songs it'll be great to see them before they head off for Australia. I was really hoping for a Lolla set, but this'll have to do.

Have fun! Yeah I suspect it will be a non-standard set.

That was supposed to be a Metro DVD joke, but since no-one got it, I'm going to let it die.

Mr. Whywontyoulisten, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Can you adjust that for a non-believer please? I find the reference to God offensive.

Edit: wow, I can make other people stupid? I must post more! :jackyl:/>

anyone else think it will be only a few songs? i'm suspicious they're not going to be the focus of this thing.

they're headlining and there's two "openers". this will end up being a "warm-up" show for their tour. we won't get all the lights and stage set up, but i have no reason to believe they won't play a full 90 minute + set. pumpkins have toured with two openers before. i think there's a chance they might just play oceania straight through and maybe some favorites in the encore. but it'll be more than a few songs.

It would be nice to know some more details of this show. Seems like a lot going in for a show starting at 8 with two openers, comedians, and auctions. Maybe the comedy and auction stuff takes place between sets.

I really doubt it's going to be anything like what people are going to hear/see on the Oceania tour. I've been to several of the fundraiser shows, and it's just a completely different vibe when people are gathered for a cause and there are several artists performing. I'm sure it will still be amazing, and fun, but I'm thinking it will be a shorter set, and I'm not counting on hearing any/all the new songs.

I seriously doubt we'll get more than 30-45 mins of pumpkins at this show. That's usually how these things go at Metro. I've been there for several charity shows there. It's still a great time though. The focus isn't Smashing Pumpkins, it's the charity. They're just adding a little incentive to donate.

Hahahhahaha. Thanks for the clip. I really hope it's not a 30 to 45 min thing or else my friends will be pissed. Would love to hear more info about specifics. Monte? Can anyone find this out? Maybe just need to call the venue?

When the Pupkins played the Mathew Leon show at the Metro in 2010, it was pretty much a full length, hour and a half concert (if I remember correctly). I know they did play Gossamer anyways, so it had the pinnings of a full show. I would expect some good stuff :)/>

Hi all, I'm new to the board. Been a Pumpkins fan since about 94/95 and have seen them about 10 times and really want to see them at this show. It looks like etix.com is selling tickets again; however, it says 'presale' and a password is needed. I tried to call with no luck. Does anyone have any idea what the password may be?

I just received an email from The Metro, and they confirmed it is sold out. The "password" box gave me hope as well, but they said it is sold out.. :nope:/>

That's just cruel of etix to do that. What a bummer! Thanks for at least confirming that with the Metro. I'm from Boston and was flying out to Chicago that weekend and really thought it was fate to combine my two favorite past times (Red Sox and Pumpkins). I'm possibly considering attempting stub hub or something like that, but that is something I've never done before and would hate to lose cash to fake tickets.

I wonder if the set list will change from the last two shows... my life would almost be complete if they play XYU. Would be really cool if they played some unheard tracks from Oceania like Glissandra or Inkless.

I highly doubt that will happen.. Im expecting close to the same set list as Rock in Rio but im hoping they play some new Oceania songs or some "deep cuts"

Does anyone know if Monte will be there taping?
