Billy says his last lyric "Goodbye..." EXACTLY at the halfway point of the song. I wonder if this was intentional.

just checked, and he doesn't say it exactly at the middle, he says it at about three quarters from the beginning of the song...

Without any checking myself I'd say you're referring to the radio edit. The full length version is 8(ish) minutes.
