So splendour sold out, which was odd enough at around $500 but I had my money on a sideshow.

Now I just don't get to see the Oceania tour.

Anyone else pissed?

It would be cheaper to get a $60 plane ticket and some cheap accommodation in Sydney.... just a thought

I may have to go to Sydney or Melbourne.

It's a 3 day festival.

The venues picked for this tour are ridiculous. No way they're going to fill up the ent cent in Sydney. I guess they need big venues for their new visual experience.

Did they not have trouble filing out the venues the last time they came? I know a few Australians mentioned the lack of ticket sales in 2010. They might be expecting a higher turnout and a media boost with their new album and a headlines spot at the festival.

I'll be missing the Auckland show. Billy really should have considered my movements when mapping out his plans for the tour. Terrible stuff.

I think they'll struggle to fill Hisense in Melbourne too.

BTW, you could get a one-day Splendour ticket for around $100

If it were on the weekend, I would totally do this, but its during the week and some people have to work.

From memory, the Brisbane show was the only one that sold out on the last tour. Pretty disappointed :-/.

ent cent = entertainment centre.
in perth they are playing challenge stadium, which isn't really that big and the pumpkins should fill it. i saw stone temple pilots there last year and was surprised at how small the place is. just basically a basketball court with a few seats.

Somebody really needed to tell Billy that Auckland's Vector Arena is regarded as having terrible acoustics. The 2008 show sounded like shit for anybody not directly in front of the band. Then they played the Auckland Town Hall in 2010, which really seemed like the better idea. Now they're heading back to Vector? I would be very surprised if they can fill that venue.

So weird that they'd skip a sideshow in one of the few cities that sold out last tour. :(/>

A lot of the major venues/stadiums in Oz sell the naming rights to companies.

you can still get pre-sale standing tickets for the sydney show. looks like these tickets aren't exactly hot property.

They have sorted out the acoustics in the Vector arena now. Seen a number of bands there and the sound has been all good.

For the pumpkins I was front row dead centre so I cant really speak for the last time they played there. However I did tell Jimmy at a signing in Aussie a few days later that I was at the show and he commented on the terrible sound so they were well aware of it at the time.
