She hears all these songs over years, and then suddenly they become an album. And Billy gets famous for it. And then Courtney turns her back on him and shit happens and yeah. I'm just saying, when you find out a song is about you, it kind of becomes yours, in a psychological way. To be denied that and ridiculed for it in the case that it may actually be true would suck for Courtney.

I am not sure I follow what you are trying to say. Billy has not been shy in saying that he wrote songs about Courtney, yet there were other women in his life that he was also deeply in love with, his wife being one of them. He also wrote songs for those women, too. Hence, that is the reason why it is a selfish claim that ALL the songs were about her. It is another means for her to enforce the notion that she was the great muse of the 90s. Love, on her part, is not a motivation. I do not believe Courtney ever loved Billy. Billy affirms as much in his commentary on Luna.

I personally believe some of BC's lyrics are about or were inspired by Courtney Love but some people dont. the fact is no matter what either one of them say now, we wont really know for sure. he might have written them then to be about CL but since then has decided that they actually stand for something else entirely. he may have lied to Courtney somewhere along the way to keep her happy. Courtney may very well be just trying to get on Billy's nerves...there really are an infinite number of ways the confusion could've become.

Of course I don't hope they'll ge back together. I'm neither insane nor sadistic. I'm only pointing out that Billy has "got rid of the wench" several times in the past, called her liar, a bad influence blah blah. He always goes back. It can be hard to purge a "great love" from your system, my friend. Also, crazy attracts crazy.
