I don't think it's the same thing. I think it's a term for a kind of drug.

But that song is about a prostitute. If hong kong glue is about "cum" it makes sense.

even if you're writing about a prostitute, you're most likely not gonna bring up cum.

That's crazy. Also, court said Bill was a great fuck in NME or MM, I've forgotten, back in 1994. I personally find that hard to believe, but maybe the crazy rule holds even in his case.

there was also an interview i saw where she admitted the only reason she went to chicago (the night she got in a fight with BCs gf) was to fuck billy.

yeah, that's right. Chris was the gf, Billy threw Court out, Court made her way to the Metro where Kurt was playing and ... SP canon. Chris and Court go way back. :D/>

I hope with all my heart this latest SP incarnation will provide the new fans with myths and legends as colorful as the original band did its old fans.

please start up my water sprinkler

see. no need to bring it up when we already know what they do.

and that toast thing is gross. i thought it was more of how that person made him feel, not what she did.

i've very gullible, i guess, but i wouldn't know because i'm too busy misinterpreting things.

plus these rock stars are such pervs.

Annie-Dog was about a prostitute, not about a slut or Yelena.

Annie-Dog was about an archetype of a woman who has sex for power or something to that effect. But yeah it's not about Courtney or Yelena. Yelena was his gf at the time, so that makes no sense that it would be about her.

"XYU" is the only one I have heard of being possibly about Courtney Love. "Soma" for example was about Chris Fabian, his then ex-girlfriend (when he wrote it) and future wife, and then ex-wife. The only song I know for sure that was about Yelena was "Stand Inside Your Love" but I imagine "Crestfallen" was about her or more accurately his relationship with her.

to my mistakes, to my mistakes of cowardice
she shimmy shakes, the jimmy jakes of consequence
born of the airs and dues, my airs of madness do declare
that it's ok, it's love
it's what you wanted to see, it's who you wanted to be
for what you needed to need, she'll make it up
love, it's who you know
machine gun blues, her vacant rush is so steel
i'm unaware, lost inside your visions
i got mine too over, i got mine and i got you
cause i know you, you're love
it's what you wanted to see, it's who you wanted to be
for what you needed to need, she'll make it up
love, it's who you know
and when i lost my mind
i knew i was in for a long night
can i look up to you as you look down on me
can i feel in to you as you felt in to me
i can't help what you see, i can't help but to be
for what you needed to need, she'll make it
love, it's who you know

wtf is 'i got mine too over' supposed to mean. always sounded like 'i got mine too...zow!' to me, which doesn't make any more sense.

"Love, it's who you know" is such an amazingly powerful lyric to me, and demonstrates a cynical take on love from Billy that is not often seen. Every song is filled with so much whimsy about eternal love and such, and then that lyric just dismisses all of it in a single line.

It also really makes me wonder how many of us are just "falling in love" with those are around and available.

well a lot of people go on this woozy lalala feeling because someone paid them some attention. then they think it's love when all it probably is...is an infatuation from hormones getting a little sparkly inside your body. thats kid shit man.

Love this song for the same reason. MCIS wavers between young innocent idealization of love and a bitter, nihilistic brush off of the same. It's fascinating really. Anyway, the sarcastic 'Love solves everything' final line is great. At the time, everyone thought this song was about Court simply because of the title. I give Billy more credit than that, I don't think he would be so obvious. And if you consider the lyrics, it just doesn't fit.

Say what you like about C, but she's directly or indirectly given us some of the best music in our lives.
I'm pretty much with Bill Hicks when comes to how rock and roll should be.
We need more batsh*t crazy women in Corgans life, not less; and drugs, we absolutley have to get more drugs down him.
Screw all this artsey widows and sailors business Billy and get back on having a good old angry guitar rant about some dirty skanks.

Can anyone really explain why the songs on MCIS couldn't have been inspired by Courtney Love, or even how she wasn't the perfect inspiration at the time those songs would have been being written?

There are obviously going to be songs written about her. That is not the contentious issue. The issue is her claim that ALL of Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie was written about her, and her claims that Billy stole her lyrics.
