Just wondered what happened to the "main" part of the Smashing Pumpkins site that had all the Teargarden by Kaleidyscope songs. I know you can still get to it directly with the URL www.smashingpumpkins.com/main but it's been disappointing pointing friends to the band's homepage to download the TbK songs, just to have them say they only saw the site to order Gish and Siamese Dream.

yeah, the site is pretty disjointed right now. each new addition was basically piled on top of the last without much regard for cohesion.

if i'm not mistaken, the only page that ever linked directly to the TbK page was the tour page, and that's no longer referenced anywhere now that the tour is over.

it seems that the TbK page has become sort of a bastardized relic. which is a shame because it's the only place on SP.com that links to the board.

but supposedly there is a new site in the works. no details or timetable yet, but hopefully it'll bring everything together, including the free TbK downloads.

we shall see. in the meantime, you may direct your friends to this url: http://www.smashingp....com/clownpenis

I must admit I get quite lost into this website from time to time as well.

I found out about this very forum quite late and I have immediately created a shortcut for it because I thought I would never be able to find it once again as the main site seemed a little bit messy. Consequently I'm glad to read that things are going to be properly reorganized in the close future. :happy:/>

By the way I wonder if everyone would be ready to follow a link who is supposed to be about music but whose url ends with "clownpenis"... :shiftyeyes:/>
I know it sounds funny in the first place but I'm pretty sure it prevents some people from going further.

you're right. that showed poor judgment on my part. i'm not sure if having a bizarre sense of humor can even justify that.

the point is, whatever you type in after smashingpumpkins.com/ will take you to the TbK page, by means of a 404 redirect.

i think the correct url is actually http://www.smashingp....com/pages/home

but that's no fun.

I got a chuckle out of clown penis, but anyway...glad to see that I'm not the only one who noticed. The old page was HORRIBLE with the blue background and random junk everywhere, but like I mentioned, it was the only way to get the Teargarden tracks.

When was it confirmed that the Web site was going to be revamped?

it was actually an offhand reference to an old SNL sketch... and here it is http://www.dula.tv/w...is-dot-fart.flv

i don't know that anything has been confirmed, i'm just going by things that have been mentioned here and there. which isn't much.
