did anyone get preorder reissues on time? or is everyone pissed off that they have to wait another week like me for something that is currently available in stores?
what is the advantage to preordering?

the advantage was the mp3 of "Frail And Bedazzled BC Instrumental Home Demo" was released only to fans who pre-order.

The thing is, this isn't strictly limited to SP.com's preorders. Many amazon orders didn't ship till yesterday. You're right though - what is the point of pre-ordering. As Monte said, SP.com offered an extra song for pre-orders. But other than that, it does seem as though fans were better off buying in store. BestBuy had those great lithographs!

Not really an advantage seeing you can get that on iTunes or other places. The more I think about how I placed my order on Oct 17th and they were unable to even have my purchase mailed on the 29th, the more I am thinking about ordering future reissues elsewhere. I don't blame the band themselves, but the company they are using. Maybe they need to rethink about what business they use.

I REALLY wish I wouldve just bought at bestbuy. Didnt realize they had unique lithos. I cant believe my pre-order (which charged me at time of pre-order) wont ship for another week. But then, what's to stop them from on the 6th saying they have to wait til even later? They need to recompensate somehow.

We finally got a Best Buy here over the summer. I just checked to see if they happened to have the reissues. NOPE! I shouldn't be surprised. They have like one small row of cds. It's like a Best Buy Mini. LOL

I guess if I do not get an email by evening on the 6th that my order has shipped I will take action. I've had better luck with Walmart.com for online orders!

Nope, there's a download code to it in the box, though no one knows how to redeem it yet.

Not to mention it's nearly the same as the one on the SD bonus disc, just unpolished and has an extra bridge/interlude.

Really? It says it's for " one (1) free exclusive track."

I think frednirv is confused as to what is being offered, on one of the SP "sites" when you click on SPRC I think it tells you to enter your email for barb wire and drown I think. Since no ones figured out how to redeem their code, no way to know for certain until we can redeem!

My emails with Top Spin

Jonathan Monte, Nov-25 10:50 (PST):
A friend of mine got the reissue album and had gotten a redemption code for a free bonus track.
He is already a member of SPRC and doesn't understand how to use the code

Hey Jonathan, I'm sorry you were unable to download the media! The following is a time-sensitive link you can use to download the files:

1. Right-click on the URL
2. Select the option to save the file locally

Files that are larger than 1GB cannot be reliably downloaded by Internet Explorer 6 or 7 and Windows versions lower than Windows XP, and will frequently have glitches and other troubles after download (if download completes) due to a Windows codec problem. We recommend you use Firefox, Chrome or Safari to download your digital files. I've provided links to the download pages for each of them below.

Firefox - http://www.getfirefox.com/
Chrome - http://www.google.com/chrome

For video files, we also recommend that you get a VLC player for playback, as it will provide you with a better viewing experience. Free VLC players can be safely downloaded here:

Please let me know if you continue to have issues with the downloads and I would be happy to provide additional assistance. Have a great day!

Best,
Miranda

Jonathan Monte, Nov-28 16:06 (PST):
so the "bonus" tracks are past downloaded files?

Miranda Degnan, Nov-28 16:27 (PST):
Hi Jonathan ~

Yes, that's correct.

Kind regards,
Miranda

thanks for the clarification Monte. Is it me or is topspin actually incompetent? Delayed reissue shipments, no where on the site for the redemption code, two previously available tracks advertised as one previously unavailable track....

I think preorsers should have been setup for a delivery of the product on the date of release. It's not like the mail man/UPS man/FedEx man would steal your package and know exactly what it was, but it definitely could have been done that way. It might have taken a little more effort to have them shipped on exact date, but it is possible to do and should be done for those who do take the extra step to pre order. :shrug:/> business etiquette..people should not have to wait for a pre order since it is indeed being paid for in advance before the official release. They should be able to have it in their own hands the same day if not the day before the others who go into a store and buy it on the day of its release.

Nothing could be as bad as my ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead - Tao Of The Dead limited edition pre-order which i ordered through the official site, i got it a month after it was released in store. I was meant to get a signed CD with it too, which i had to pick up at a gig a month after that... Plus a backstage meet-up which i paid extra for to recieve a limited edition artwork with them sign it for me, which never even happened...

Just got this email from SPRC.....

Dear Smashing Pumpkins Fan,

We're thrilled that we received so many pre-orders for Gish and Siamese Dream. Merchandise is arriving to fans throughout this week and early next week.

Due to the sheer number of orders some of the physical products will ship out later than expected but we're working as quickly as possible to get them all processed. All pre-orders will be in the mail no later than Tuesday, December 6th.

Thank you so much for your patience and we hope you enjoy these special reissues.

The SPRC Support Team

...;. Are you taking the piss or what? The whole point of pre-ordering the item is so you can get it into you hands as quickly as possible. I pre-ordered mine the 1st day they opened up the link on the homepage - and now i am being told that they are going to be delayed by a week, as they can't get them all sent out in time?

LAST time i pre-order something off the official website, 1 week delay on a pre-order is pathetic. It beats the whole purpose of pre-ordering an item, and as the postage was so much more costly on this website than everywhere else - feel like i just got a swift kick in the bollocks by the artist & SPRC for trying to do "The right thing" and purchase direct with SPRC.

Well, not again SPRC. In future i will place my orders with retailers who know how to handle the demand they create. 1 full week in delays to send the fucking item out is ridiculous, and just tripled the chances of the items being lost in the mail as they will now get sent in the middle of the crazy christmas postage flood.

Very annoyed!

It depends on if the cashier is competent. I bought both Gish and SD and I was only given the Gish one. Had I known there were two, I wouldn't have left until I got both.

I pre-ordered mine on Monday thru Amazon. I received them today even though I chose the free 5-8 day shipping. Not bad.

Has anyone else noticed that on the back of the SD deluxe version the song title Drown is misspelled "Down" on the DVD? It has that bootleg feel due to this.

My Amazon pre-order is supposed to arrive tomorrow, and it's really pissing me off. You'd think they could send it out early and get it all to us on the day it actually comes out, but for some reason they don't seem to want to do that. I wish I had just waited and picked it up from a record store yesterday.

"Down" is the alternate version.

The e-mail saying that they'll be shipping no later than next Tuesday makes me just want to say screw them, call up my CC company and ask for a charge back. I've done tons of pre-orders over the years and they always come either before, or on the date of release. Shipping a week after is ridiculous. With the holidays it will make the wait even later. Plus buying from the SPRC you end up spending 25.00 more than buying from Best By or Amazon.

wait...so you end up spending more by preordering through the site and can't even have it delivered on release day :nope:/>

that's just asinine business right there. Not a good way to show respect for your super fans.

It isn't the band's fault or responsibility. They aren't personally the ones mailing the stuff out. Blame it and take it out on the company, but honestly, I don't see what the big deal is in waiting a few extra days. Mine are scheduled to arrive for another week. Sure I'd like to have it now, but I've already heard the bonus stuff, and even if I hadn't, what's an extra couple of days anyway?

Even if you had gone with Amazon, there's no guarantee it would've arrived. I went with Amazon myself and am looking at at least another week till arrival.

I could be enjoying Siamese Dream right now if id had just gone to best buy tonight.

I'm surprised how worked up some people are. It would be one thing if after all the waiting, the plug was pulled at the last second leaving us with nothing, but these things are coming out- for some they already have, for some they will in the next few days. Seriously, everyone needs to chill out and stop getting so worked up over a little delay. You're gonna get it, just have a little patience. I wish mine were here too, but waiting an extra few days isn't the end of the world.

i think the main frustration is coming from the people who paid $20+ for shipping by ordering through SP's website. And then the preorder is a week or so late. The preorder is for specifically getting it day of release, or at the latest 2 days later. In this case, we could have all went to Best Buy, saved money, and scored two lithgraph posters which look badass.

Who paid $20+ for shipping besides international users? I ordered both LPs and it was $8.

there is absolutely no incentive to ordering from the netphoria/amazon deal... all you're doing is prolonging the life of Netphoria.... shame!

i think the main frustration is coming from the people who paid $20+ for shipping by ordering through SP's website. And then the preorder is a week or so late. The preorder is for specifically getting it day of release, or at the latest 2 days later. In this case, we could have all went to Best Buy, saved money, and scored two lithgraph posters which look badass.

I'm feeling the same way right now. Best Buy is around the corner from me and it's absolute torture. I paid $20 S&H to get them 2 weeks after the release date and I won't even be in the country when they arrive at my door :what:/> I'm really tempted to buy the reissues at the store and give the ones that I pre-ordered as a gift at this point :x

Might I also remind folks that those who pre-ordered The Solstice Bare through SP.com got their copies either on the day of release or even in many cases ahead of the release date. Im sure some properly worded emails to TopSpin will/might/(hopefully) help prevent such things in the future, whether for SP or whatever other band they oversee.

That's ridiculous. Never order from them again. And let them know.

I was tempted to tweet to them, but I don't want to sound like a whiny fan :x In all fairness, I remember reading on the pre-order form that the reissues would arrive on the 29th or 1-2 days after. So I suppose I never expected to get my copies on the release day. It's just torture to see all the fans with their copies and their *thumbs up* pics!!!

im not saying pre ordering from the official site is bad, I'm saying if they are going to have them available for preorder then there should be an incentive to getting them earlier or day of release, it would be wise and the right thing to do imo, Just think fans shouldn't have to get on hold mode for it. Try to make the fans happy not piss em off.

My main frustration isn't necessarily not getting them yesterday or even today. It's that Topspin has already taken the money out of my bank account. They got what they wanted while I am told in an email basically that they don't know how to run a business and properly fullfill business obligations and I'll just have to wait until they ship my order. It is usual practice that businesses do not take the payment until the order is shipped. At this point there is no way to cancel the order even if I wanted to. THAT is what I am frustrated about!

That's probably the most rational thing anyone on this board has ever said. Honestly though, just download the torrents and call it a day.
