Dear Smashing Pumpkins supporters,

We are sincerely sorry for the delay in shipping the reissues of Gish and Siamese Dream. We put so much effort into them from start to finish for you - the fans - and to have them not be in your hands first is very disappointing to us.

Between manufacture to shipping there were multiple delays that were caused by red-tape and integration issues. These are the reasons although we feel there are no excuses. Rest assured that we are doing whatever we can to ensure everything has been shipped or will ship in 24 hours. In fact, many have been shipped already but it is not triggered in the system that sends you confirmation – so don’t be surprised if you get it any second.

Although it doesn't make up for it, we are going to create a special product just for those of you that had pre-ordered Gish or Siamese Dream physical product (Deluxe/CD/Vinyl) through www.smashingpumpkins.com before Nov 29th. We are working very closely with Billy to find and manufacture something specifically for you that no one else will have. We will update you on this as soon as possible and keep you in the loop from the beginning.

We have learned from this and hope that you will give the SPRC another chance at direct purchase in the future. While we appreciate our retail partners- it is always nice to know that the fans are willing to buy directly from the artist and we plan to continue the SPRC with special content and offers.

Once again, we sincerely apologize to you for the delay.

An unrelated question of general curiosity for the SPRC: When might we be expecting new releases through the SPRC? Haven't heard anything in a while. Just wondering.

I finally received my reissues today. I think the worst part of this whole ordeal was the customer service from BandMerch and TopSpin. I complained to both companies last week and received emails from both yesterday saying basically "your stuff is in the mail, consider the issue resolved"....and then another from TopSpin saying "how'd we do handling your complaint?"
I think its fantastic the band is doing this for us.

Although I still think the handling of the whole ordeal was absolutely atrocious, I am glad the situation is at least being rectified like this. It was mentioned on Monte's blog that the items have to be manufactured, so my guess is we're gonna get some kind of special vinyl/CD release with all the SPRC tracks on it...who knows though...maybe we'll get some kind of Oceania related goods!

Since they have to manufacture it still, I bet it will take a while like in true SP fashion. But fuck yeah! I am thrilled that they are offering this up.

final metro dvd or gtfo

just joking. That is REALLY COOL of the sprc to try to make amends like this. I hate the "band" had to do something to attempt to rectify this. Topspin and bandmerch should have been the ones. Cause I will ALWAYS order whatever products from sp inc; topspin/bandmerch on the other hand...

cant wait to see what the bonus is. I bet it will be a long wait, but Im excited.

also, in the spirit of fan-community...
I think all fans should have some form of access to this special release. True only some of us ha dto get our pre-orders a week and a half late at double cost; but many "fans" of a thing have a completist mindset when it comes to products. Im sure people will be able to pirate it. But maybe, I dont know...if the special product is physical, maybe a download one could go up for everyone else. Or if the special product is download, maybe everyone else could download it a week later or something. Any ideas?

As much as i appreciate the gesture, i must warn it will take something pretty signifigant for me to even consider purchasing off this website again. I pre-ordered them, then opted for a refund when my purchase got delayed - then walked into a cd store on the otherside of the world - & picked it off the shelf and took it home - crazy situation that this happened considering you are the bands website - you had 2 months to sort it out - yet some ma & pa cd shop in Australia were able to sell it to me before you could even post it to me - and for around $30 cheaper overall no-less.

First thing would be to ditch Topspin - even if Billy sends me signed copy of the song which he wrote especially for me about how sorry he is my reissue's turned up late ..... i will still never give a single cent to those moron leechs at top spin.

So as much as i appreciate the gesture, fingers have been burned once - and you would have to be one sweet talking charming motherfucker to get me to risk burning them again.

I would imagine that even though i opted to get a refund 2 days ago on my order made in October, rather than wait for it to be shipped ( which would mean i would still be waiting for the item for another 2 weeks near ), i am going to be privvy to this "my bad" present?

I'm glad you are happy with your "gift for the band". But personally, i don't see how anyone could consider purchasing something at an inflated price, paying for it 2 months before it was meant to come out - then being the last person to actually receive it, " a gift".

Topspins webiste was a fucking joke, and the website SHOULD know how unprofessional they were - as they also represented the Smashing Pumpkins, SPRC & this website. They sent me emails that were not even addressed in my name ( " To Daniel", which is not my name - and my personal email address actually is only my name ). They sent emails that " your order has been processed" , then 4 days later sent emails saying " You order has been delayed" . They actually managed to fail to send the items before it was possible to purchase them in Australia - It was possibly the worst service you could ever imagine receiving while paying a premium price.

If you want to get Billy a present mate - just give him $20 if thats what you consider to be a "gift". I don't think it is too unreasonable for anyone who is really unhappy at extremely bad service to NOT want to go back to that place while the said person(s) are still involved.

The free gift is coming from SPRC, not TopSpin - so its not like they are even STILL taking responsibility for it.

Does you mum work at Topspin or something, as i fail to see how anyone should be satisfied with what went down, and would choose by will to purchase there again when literally 1000's of cheaper, more effective alternatives are around. And at no point did i blame Billy, the band or even SPRC - i have singled TopSpin out on every occasion, as it is clearly their fuck up

Hahaha that would be the day. I've been signed up from day one and I never got sent half the download links for the songs that have already been released. I'm pretty disappointed with the sprc in general tbh, one nasty experience from start - present. Hopefully they can redeem themselves in the future...

I'm with you Jukebox, it's TopSpin/Bandmerch all the way. I'm glad SPRC is attempting to make this up to us, even those of us who cancelled the order and got the refund. I disagree that the fans in the SPRC should get this physical release, by all means a downloadable one for sure, but only the ones who preordered and were inconvenienced by this ordeal should receive this special release.

yeah im very grateful for the make-up gift that is en route. But Im with you, I doubt I would order from topspin again. I want to continue ordering from the site, but I wish sp would drop topspin/bandmerch. I dont really see why sp couldnt just use amazon/bestbuy as their distributor(s). However, I dont know...maybe this gift will be so cool, it will make me not be concerned about ordering in the future. What I really hope the gift is is a dvd of another show. It was really cool watching the gish and siamese shows in the boxes. The siamese show was 2 hours and I could TOTALLy go for another!

As much as I love to support the Pumpkins, I could not bring myself to order them directly from SP.com when I could get them from Amazon for almost $30 cheaper. Sorry SP you know I love you but your prices were just too high.

prices should be cheaper when ordering 'directly' from a band. this isnt the case with SP merch.

the bonus should be cd single with studio versions of gossamer & as rome burns :lick:/>

Yes yes.

I didn't order from SP.com precisely because of the countless issues around this. I am now precluded from getting some [cool] shit, because I paid for the stuff elsewhere? DOESN'T MEAN I AIN'T A TRU-FAN UNKIE BILL. So... give me an incentive in the first to order from you, i.e. it being cheaper than other retailers / the products ship before other retailers LOL or some other such ground-breaking concept and I'll happily choose SPRC.

Also if it was 'manufacturing integration issues' or some such baloney - please, pray tell - why the hell haven't any the other retailers had a problem ?

I think most fans feel that way mate. It's a real shame because we all knew we were paying above odds to go through the website - the free F & B demo was not much of an incentive because, lets face it - EVERYTHING is free in this digital world for those who want it. But with Billy going down the independant road, i felt it important to try and make sure as much as the money i pay for his products - go to the band, and not some super merchant outlet which has helped kill the Ma & Pa outlets.

I think whatever the gift is, they can't let it drag on too long. The sooner everyone can move on from the lateness and this fuck up, the sooner everyone will really get over it. The product itself is exceptional. Got mine yesterday ( eventually NOT for SP.com ) and watched the Siamese Dream DVD last night - and i coulda cried it was so enjoyable and fun to watch. I feel pretty sorry for Billy, as he had to work and fight his arse off to get these re-issues to happen, on his terms - he has slaved over getting the RIGHT material to make sure this re-issue is not only of the highest quality - but the content is of literall importance - and capture the sound, vibe and process involved that made these times in his / our lives so exciting. He fucking nailed it, and now a lot of us are still talking about how Topspin fucked up, rather than the great, & quite generous package he ensured we got.

I think the best thing SPRC could do is find a new distributor. Fans seem to have been able to sort out their anger with this issue to seperate the band & SPRC from Topspin - but if they don't recognize that and do something about it - i doubt people will support the "O store" much when other options are so readily available.

The SPRC is something Billy and everyone involved have put a lot of thought and effort into, and they must be livid and shattered that something as simple as getting orders out on time has really tainted their efforts with this.

SPRC - get this gift thing sorted out asap. Its actually more important for you to get this done quickly, than make something super dooper special as the last thing you need is post coming up here in the new year saying "When are we getting our free gift"..."Still Waiting"..... The longer people wait, the higher the expectation will be for it also.

****NOTE TO SPRC****

SPRC, why have i not gotten my email on this yet?

Can someone from SPRC please contact me to let me to advise if i have been overlooked or for some reason i am not applicable to it? Pre-ordered on "Day 1" so its a bit offensive to have people receiving this email up to 2 days ago, but again my order and effort is being overlooked?

At the very least I'd like to hope that those that aren't entitled to the free gift would be able to purchase it instead. If it's something different and worthwhile I wouldn't want to miss out on it just because I didn't order from the main site. I'll gladly pay for it, just make it available.

Please don't misunderstand this. This is not a "haha you should have ordered from SP.com" promotion. This is a "SP is really sorry this got so messed up" for those whose orders didn't show up as expected.
The main reason this was posted on here is to a) confirm that the email people received was legit, b) most of the feedback about the problem was posted on the message board, and we worked hard to relay the information and discontent to those in charge, and therefore posted their response here to let people know something was being done. As was expressed, this project has been in the works for a long time if you consider the time it took for BC to secure the rights to all of this. For fans to be left with a sour taste in their mouth for what is essentially an incredible collection of music is incredibly frustrating to all those involved.

For future releases, the message has been passed on that a 5-track package that contains 4 tracks already available wasn't well received and is not much of an incentive. Hopefully for future releases, the SP crew will get creative with ways of encouraging you to support SP thru its website. But again, this thread is not about making people wish they'd ordered thru SP.com, but to say sorry to those who did and who, sadly, had a bad experience of it all.

Agree with this. Don't understand how the people who were not put out my extremely late pre-orders are feeling somehow victimized they DIDN'T get screwed around, & subsequently received their items on time without any stress or issue.

The gift is an apology, not a thank you. You should be greatful your order was not a pricking shambles like the rest of ours were.

And that's totally understandable and cool. I have no problems with it. My only thing is if the item is really cool, I'd like to hope there might be a few extras leftover so that I could purchase one. If not, no big deal.

The re-issues are released through Virgin Records.

correct, but from my understanding he is still a independant artist and this is more of a distribution agreement for thisn specific project, and without the co-operation from Virgin, it never would have happened.

I guess i was more saying that since B/C has committed to be as "independant as possible", i wanted to support that stance "as much as possible" and cut out the middle man as much as possible.

Also if it was 'manufacturing integration issues' or some such baloney - please, pray tell - why the hell haven't any the other retailers had a problem ?

some of this actually raises a good point about giving the gift (atleast in digital form) to all sprc subscribers. The people who ordered elsewhere 9and at half the cost), are not likely to switch to sp.com for pisces after all theyve seen on here about the late (and then late again) PRE-orders. Maybe they should have access tot he gift as well, to try to say to them...hey, order from us next time too!

This raises one fear I recently realized (if this gift is a physical product): topspin aint gonna want to pay shipping to all these people for a physical product (think of the people over seas!!!). I bet they hold off til april and say they will include it in your package if you order pisces from them. I hope we dont have to wait til then just to save them shipping money AND to lock us into buying from them again.

Another note/concern: I hope the "makeup" gift is cool. The frail and bedazzled instrumental demo was not that awesome, and that's all that was used to lure us into ordering there at double price. Doesnt set the bar high for what they might give away for free, especially if they are having to pay to ship it. Another dvd show would be really cool. Mods (or bradfromtopspin): is there any legal way you could give us an idea of roughly how many people pre-ordered from the site? Just out of interest. Speculations could be made much more realistic if we knew what yall were up against (as far as if it will be physical or digital, dvd or cd or vinyl, etc).

$40 here. I ordered the Gish LP through SPRC, though.
