only originals (otherwise i would expect to see "rock on" atop EVERY list lol)
(1 is worst, 11 is least-worst)
these go to 11!
1 the entirety of zeitgeist, save for tarantula and zeitgeist (i swear i am not being controversial)
2 the entirety of teargarden by kaleidyscope, save for song for a son, spangled, teargarden theme, cottonwood symphony and the fellowship (and maybe a stitch in time)
3 the ballad of dusty and pistol pete
4 love
5 bury me
6 rotten apples
7 the crying tree of mercury
8 let me give the world to you
9 by starlight
10 we only come out at night
11 lily (my one and only)

:shocked:/> I'm especially shocked by those last three. Oh well, different strokes for different folks and all.
For me:
11. Owata (the older version is okay... not so much as fan of the Teargarden version)
10. FOL
9. That's the Way (My Love Is)
8. If There is a God
7. Astral Planes
6. Spangled
5. The Bells
4. Jesus is the Sun
3. Freak
2. Lightning Strikes
1. Widow Wake My Mind (God, I despise this song. It's said that 154,889 people died the day this song was released. I don't think that was a coincidence.)

1. Doomsday Clock (oh my god..)
2. Tales of a Scorched Earth
3. Suffer
4. Marquis In Spades
5. Pissant
6. Silverfuck
7. A Song For A Son (don't mind it as a song TOO much, but my god it got butchered in the studio)
8. Heavy Metal Machine
9. The Bells
10. Cash Car Star
11. Vanity
Obviously I'm not incredibly into the 'balls to the wall rock' songs. I prefer the more soft, atmospheric, emotional side of SP. Having said, I do enjoy all these songs (save for 1) to an extent, but could just never get into them like the other material..

There's not a song on that list I don't think is awesome, except obviously some songs from TBK and Z, but not ALL of them

i like several of those to varying degrees--xyu, starla, marquis, window paine, even tales...but can actually understand why anyone, even SP diehards, might not.
not liking once upon a time, however, does not compute with me at all.

I basically never listen to it. A creative nadir for Corgan. I'll give him a C on Again and Sunkissed, and a fail on Pox and yes, Rose March. The latter sounds like the acoustic bit from Aqualung, a song I like, though one that should not be referenced outside Anchorman.
The C tracks could benefit from better production. The disgustingly dry ear splitting vocals for all of them are brutal on my dainty pampered ears.

I guess I'm just not too much into the pop rock. Well, I guess a lot of the songs I do like could be described as poppy, but Freak and Lightning Strikes just seem to lack substance to me. And Jesus is The Sun, I just find boring.

I agree with a lot of these and disagree with a lot.
Tristessa, Appels + Oranjes and Take Me Down are probably my least favorite songs on their respective albums. However, since I find Gish's songs all very homogenous in terms of quality (not sound), I still like Tristessa as it is only slightly not as good as the others. Take Me Down is boring. Appels + Oranjes... again, too poppy for my tastes and it seems to pale in comparison to what is an amazingly strong album.
Raindrops + Sunshowers... I used to agree with you here. It took the song a while to grow on me, and now I absolutely adore it. Potent imagery in the lyrics, and seems to mix up-tempo and dreary into this weird combination.
I love The Boy, as well. One of my favorite James-vocal songs, if not my favorite. I know, this goes against my "I don't like poppy songs so much" thing (it's pretty damn bubblegummy, down to the lyrics), but it has a sort of dreamy quality to it I really dig.
I don't understand why Zeitgeist's For God & Country gets so much flack, I think it sounds beautiful. I really like that oriental lead that everyone else seems to find silly, and I think that the Zeitgeist vocals actually fit well with this song whereas there are songs where the style feels misplaced on.
I really like The Sacred and Profane. Again, it's sort of dark and pseudo-gothic, but with a sort of uptempo rock pace.
