Gish & Siamese Dream, remastered & reissued Where were the standard editions made?

the regular (1 cd) editions were made in different places. i'm still figuring out where exactly, but for europe, there's definitely a non-usa version available.
see here: http://www.spfreaks....TAILS&item=3575 and http://www.spfreaks....TAILS&item=3576
there's also a US version, and i think a japanese and canadian version also exist. and there are probably mexican, different asian and different south-american versions too. but who knows?
i'd find it interesting to hear from everyone who bought the regular edition of gish and/or siamese dream remastered.
where did you buy it and can you find out what version it is?
does it say something like "Printed in the EU" or "Made in Canada"?
can you read both IFPI codes on the silver side of the cd, near the centre? if not, no problem, but if you can, that would be even better.
did you notice anything special with your copy?
did your copy come with one of those sprc redemption code vouchers? like this:
http://www.spfreaks.com/data/tumbnails%5CCD%27s%20(Official)%5CWO%5CCD%20WO%20Gish%20(2011%20reissue%20deluxe%20box)d11.jpghttp://www.spfreaks.com/data/tumbnails%5CCD%27s%20(Official)%5CWO%5CCD%20WO%20Gish%20(2011%20reissue%20deluxe%20box)d12.jpg
(the european version doesn't, as far as i know.)
thanks for your help.
or if you didn't buy it, and don't want to, but you're at a record shop every now and then, can you maybe check the next time you're there? ok, you won't be able to answer all the questions, but a quick look on the back is enough to see what it says about the origin (printed in the EU, or something similar).

also, did you buy the deluxe editions on amazon.co.uk too? do the bonus dvds have the german FSK logo "ab 0 freigegeben"?

i don't know if this is common, or why they did this.
maybe it's a double layer dvd, and these always come with two matrix codes?

i would love to hear from someone in canada. have you seen the standard 1-cd edition of the gish and siamese dream reissues in a shop? or even better, did you buy them?
can you see some information about the origin of the cd? does it say "made in Canada" or "EMI Music Canada" or something similar? please?
confirmation/information from people in the us and the uk would also be appreciated.

I think the only ones I saw in store were the deluxe re-issues though. The copies I have are the deluxe re-issues. Not sure if the standard re-issues are any different in terms of where they were made.

thanks, david.
i specifically want to know about the standard editions, though.
i know about a european version, an american one and a japanese one. so i expect a canadian also to exist. but before i try to get them, i'd like to be sure they actually exist. buying another pair of american cds would be a waste of money and effort.
all deluxe editions are made in the same place, so there isn't much more info to find about those.
i wonder though, do your dvds carry the german fsk logo (ab 0 freigegeben)?
the stores here only seem to have the standard editions. i guess they never got many deluxe editions, and they sold out quickly.

Yeah I will take a look at the store again, to see if they somehow have the standard editions. But at the HMV store I went to the last time, they only seemed to have the deluxe.
No, my dvds don't carry that logo. I'm guessing that it differs to due the Region that the DVD is meant for. Maybe the Region 1 DVDs were created in the US but the European ones were produced in Germany? Not really sure. They have the same weird doubling of the matrix code for the Siamese Dream DVD though.

but depending on where the dvds were going to be sold, they added the fsk logo. i think it's a bit like a sticker. i'm trying to figure out what markets got the logo. it makes sense that they didn't add it for canada.

david, if you find the standard editions, and they're proper canadian releases, and if they're not too expensive (not more than $15), and if you don't mind, you can buy them for me. i believe we've done this before a couple of times (i remember gish and zeitgeist).
you don't have to, obviously, and if you'd rather not, that's fine. but if you don't mind, i'd really appreciate it.

Oh I totally forgot to check. I haven't been to HMV for awhile. Yeah we definitely did it for Gish. Didn't you give me the July 17, 1998 show in exchange? Anyways, I will try to check this weekend.

the US standard editions are also made in mexico, just like the deluxe editions.
must've been cheaper.
all US releases (deluxe edition, vinyl record, standard edition) of gish and siamese dream come with that little sprc redemption code piece of paper.
none of the other releases do, as far as i know. but the deluxe editions and the vinyl records are sold worldwide. as a result, the sprc codes are available everywhere.

Interesting. I had no idea. What's weird is on the merch pages, it leads you to believe that you will get all the SPRC content that has been released so far with those download codes, but it's only two of the songs. I didn't need them since I already had downloaded them from the SPRC site but still, not sure why they would say that but only have two tracks available.

As a little bonus for purchasing these from the SPRC directly, we have found another buried treasure for you - "Frail and Bedazzled Instrumental" - This track is a Billy Corgan home demo from back in the day. While you are at it be sure to sign up for the SPRC for future gems:
they mean that if you order anything from sp.com (cd, vinyl, or digital), you'll get all 4 tracks + frail and bedazzled, as a download.
this is completely separate from those sprc download codes that come with the US releases. nothing is promised when you buy the deluxe edition in a record shop, but then when you open it, you'll find the download code, as a little extra.
by the way, if you read the download code card, it only promises one free track. you get two though. maybe it was easier to put the same card for the download of two tracks in every release, rather than making two different cards for two different tracks, and then try to put one kind of card in all gish releases, and then the other kind of card in all siamese dream releases. this way the people who buy both gish and siamese dream still end up with two different tracks, so they don't have any reason to complain. because it would kind of suck if both releases contained a download code for the same one track.
