I got a never-before opened box sex version of Siamese Dream, yet when I use the redemption code for the first time ever it says I've exceeded its usage--can anyone help?

i'm guessing you purchased the box second-hand and someone already used the code?

in any case you may have more success if you get in touch with Topspin support. we're generally clueless here and uninvolved in the sales/merch side of things.

got the same issue.

Between this and the orders being very late of the main website - you would think you were purchasing something through an indie band releasing stuff from their garage. Not a band that was considered the biggest in the world there for a long period of time.

Times are a chang'n

Is the download even worth the effot can anyone tell me?

according to SP.com this is what you get:

All orders of Gish and/or Siamese Dream include an instant download of the four tracks that have been previously available only through the Smashing Pumpkins Record Club (SPRC) - the 8-track demo of "Drown," "Suicide Kiss Geek" (no vox), "Barb Wire" and "Rhinoceros Version 2."

As a little bonus for purchasing these from the SPRC directly, we have found another buried treasure for you - "Frail and Bedazzled Instrumental" - This track is a Billy Corgan home demo from back in the day. While you are at it be sure to sign up for the SPRC for future gems:

but it isn't difficult to find the tracks elsewhere.

the code doesnt give you all those tracks. Each single code gives you one track. Gish code gives one song, and siamese another. It is always the same songs (cant remember which), but it is definitely NOT the frail and bedazzled one. So beasically, if youve been following the sprc easter egg releases, the code gives you nothing. You dont even need to bother with it. You can get those tracks by going to the sprc site and clicking around on images until youve collected all the tracks.

how is it amazon's fault? all amazon does is sell it, it's up to the topsin servers to verify the codes and obviously they generated more codes than they have as acceptable codes listed on their servers.

seriously retarded people are running topspin

so it isn't possible that Amazon mistakenly sent out some codes more than once?

wasn't saying it was amazon's fault. i said i don't know. neither do you. people need to stop jumping to conclusions.

how widespread is this problem anyway? three people got expired codes for songs that are freely available anyway?

What are you talking about? The codes are inside the boxset. So whoever manufactured the product would be the ones to put the codes inside the boxsets. Amazon doesn't pack the cd's, postcards, cd booklet, redemption codes, and dvd's in the boxsets. They just distribute the product, that's all.

sure, why not? i wouldn't be surprised if someone at the manufacturing company is responsible for this.

but poor old Topspin will probably shoulder all the blame. :(/>

how is amazon sending out codes? Unless you're not talking about the deluxe box sets... The codes are inside the box, which were printed out and placed in the boxes when they were put together, by topspin/bandmerch, and then when you enter it into the sp.com site, it checks against the topspin servers.

yeah, someone already provided some clarification on that fact. i was aware of all of that except for the part about the codes being included inside the box sets. for some reason i had concluded that they were separate, because i didn't know any better. this is what happens when you make assumptions in ignorance.

correct, but not completely:
- if you order from sp.com, you'll get a download for all five sprc tracks.
- if you buy the deluxe editions, there's a little sprc card in there with a code. it says it's good for "one (1) free, rare, unreleased track download." however(!), when i tried the codes just now, both codes - gish deluxe and siamese dream deluxe - gave me the same download of two (2!) tracks in a zip file: "drown 8-track demo" and "barb wire". so it's not one track per code, depending on what box it was in.
- so, yes, if you have been paying attention and have been downloading the sprc tracks that became available until now, this sprc redemption code is basically worthless.

Both the Gish and SD redemption codes gave me Barb Wire and Drown (8-Track Demo) which I both had already obviously.

if you buy the reissues on vinyl, it also comes with a download code for the sprc.
this download code also gives you drown and barb wire.
