This is the "The End Is The Beginning Is The End, The Remixes | Acetate". My problem is I'm not sure if it's a fake or the real deal. Not that it's worth a fortune or anything, but I would hate to sell it someday and lie about it's authenticity.

Everything looks like the real thing as shown here, but the matrix code is different as you can see in the picture below.

If you don't want to have to zoom in on the code it's (CD-RECORDABLE 7113C-74).

Any ideas?

If it is a fake, they have certainly done their homework.

it's real.

the matrix codes on cd-rs vary. as far as i know, these matrix codes on cd-rs aren't linked to one certain release, or vice versa.
just think about this: when they buy empty cd-rs, they already have their matrix codes. and then they can burn anything on any cd-r.

Thanks Ice Cream. You know a lot more about this stuff than most. :salute:/>

I was checking out some of my old stuff the other day, and while I was doing some comparisons to SPFreaks that matrix code started bugging me. I feel better now. :happy:/>

How many of these do you own?

i think i have two copies of that promo.
if i don't forget, i will compare them later, and report back. might be interesting to see what the matrix code on those copies is. you know, to complete the story.

NU-WAVE BATCAVE! BOOYAH! quite a rare remix. only available on a couple of promotional releases. these four we know about: http://www.spfreaks....TRACK&track=291

Cool. Although I didn't want you to have to go digging through your stuff. But I am curious.

ha. no reason to refer to it as "digging". i'll just walk over to the cd rack, take those two copies, and check the matrix code. no biggie.

It's pretty wicked and very different. I bought this about 5 years ago for $8.00 on ebay.

No digging? Your much more organized than I am.

one copy says 6B12E, the other one says 7114C.
your copy says 7113C.

seems all fine to me.
a different type of cd-r would be alarming.
