welcome

more are coming. the levels are low, so you might need a good sound system to crank out the sound properly.

as I had said, my capture is a bit of a mess and attempts to correct some stuff only lead to more issues, and better is out there I am sure, so for now just sharing the raw junk I managed to get.

That's kind of strange. There's no problem with the other two videos yet. I used my youtube downloader and now im watching the videos on my TV and through my surround sound, so that's making the lower levels a non issue. I keep watching Space Odyssey, XYU, and Black Diamond over and over again. Those three songs were the highlight of the show.

Aye it is, this is the rip from the DVD. Nearly finished converting all the songs individually to FLAC and uploading them to the channel too. I'll see if i can put the FLACs on LMA later tonight, i've spent about 3 hours doing this and i need a break :cheers:/>

an FM version of the show has appeared on ZOMB as well now, but apparently Black Diamond was cut from the broadcast.

Thank you for the info <3/> , i've added it to the downloads. I think i'll keep this version up for now, even if the FM is better quality this is still more complete.

Unless people want the FM version up too...

Pro shot TV release from the show in dual layer DVD format is also now being shared on ZOMB now. Looks like everything but Black Diamond, and Zero comes in late as well.

They messed up the start of the live stream (briefly no audio, and like you say they didn't join the concert until a few seconds into Zero), so you're not missing out anything in that respect.

FLACS uploaded here:

http://archive.org/d...12-05-26.flac16

For some reason it's kept the 3 first tracks i uploaded on the page even though i've deleted them from the root. I renamed and re-uploaded them to the etree norm. Hopefully the page will update soon without them. But anyway, FLAC rips are now available for download. Enjoy :)/>

Tracks ripped straight from the DVD to 96kps WAV > FLAC

This still blows me away, i've been listening to it non-stop:

No, you are not alone. I liked what I heard from the Spain show much more. I also think they sounded better during the 2011 shows but it has only been two shows so far. However, the two shows so far were played in very different settings which may account for the difference.

Starla was pretty mind blowing.

I think this show is amazing and I'm not just saying this but Mike is one of the most incredible drummers I've ever seen.

These last two shows have really convinced me that The Smashing Pumpkins right now are a better live act than they've ever been. I'm sure people will hate me for saying that but I'm serious.

Is there audio somewhere of the Spain show?, because all I can find of it are some pretty bad quality YouTube videos. My point being that I don't see how some people around here are saying the Spain show was better. Unless you were there, all you have to compare against are some crappy quality YouTube recordings from Spain to some amazing quality rips from the entire Rio show. Im sure its just a few people looking for something to gripe about, as is always then case around here.

Anyway, the band sounds great. Easily the best quality recordings ive heard of Oceania, Quasar and Panopticon. Oldies like Tonight Tonight, Disarm, and TEITBITE are still fantastic, and I like the way they've been slightly retooled.

I like the retooling of the old songs too. I've seen those songs so many times live on Vieuphoria for example... and honestly they would be a bit boring for me if they weren't reworked a little. That's one of the things I think the current lineup is doing well which is basically breathing new life into old songs that we've all seen and heard a million times.

Honestly, I thought it was a solid performance but it was just lacking something. The 2011 tour just seemed to have a better setlist (apart from the reintroduction of XYU and TEG), a better vibe and better Billy vocals.

A few observations:
-I noticed Nicoles backing vocals a lot more this time around than usual. Was she singing more than she usually did or was her mic just louder?
-XYU. I never really liked the 1998 performances of it much. I did enjoy the new version of BWBW from then, but XYU didn't change very well. Also, the screams were good but were a bit forced and some vocals just seemed completely off and had that loud bored sound to them. I suppose it was re-introduced after Billy found that new take he's planning on releasing and he felt like revisiting the song...
-Lack of new material and the overall 'greatest hits' theme of the show. I get that it's not part of a proper tour but unless they're doing a rotating roster of songs or something or plan on keeping all of these songs, the band went out of their way to redo a few old favourites. This also seems an especially odd move after that 'forget the hits' article i read not too long ago. But i'm surprised that there's no Gish material. Not even I Am One or Siva or something. It would have fit the show...
-Oh yeah, when did Billy get.. uhh... bigger?

BC and Mike at 53:20 just doesn't get any cooler. I wouldn't change one thing about this band.

yah im huge mike bryne fan after these shows over 2011 to now, not only does his drumming kick major ass in everything he really does(now he made mistake sat first in 2009-2010) but now he has a godly rocking voice that he can do perfectly WHILE drumming, yah he shot up really quickly on my favorite drummer's list

same setlist, but the vocal delivery was not the same, this one was much more sloppy. And i think this concert provided the worst performance of oceania yet(song)

for me "oceania" is a bit disappointing. would fit on zeitgeist, a typical post 2000 pumpkins song.... no matter how psychedelic it is , it just lacks a good melody for me

ok not liking oceania is just subjective but your insane if you think it fits on zeitgeist, quasar is the only song that sounds even remotely close to zeitgeist

you prefer having those annoying high pitched voice breaks, whatever floats your boat but i prefer it when he sings it cleanly without and cracks like they did playing it in 2011

you prefer having those annoying high pitched voice breaks, whatever floats your boat but i prefer it when he sings it cleanly without and cracks like they did playing it in 2011

If I were going to critique Billy's voice on every performance, to be honest I wouldn't have that much positive to say. However, musically this sounded sharper and more dynamic than any other performance of it ive heard. For that alone I give it tops on my list of Oceania performances.

i would stand out quasar, xyu and the everlasting gaze, if you actually listen to the bootleg, billy sounds pretty amazing. I thought mike´s voice was thin, but his singing voice in that particular song is interesting different. i dare to say that quasar is among their best songs since the reunion, i cant get enough of it, ist so trippy, full of energy, like a quasar i guess.
