Wonderful. TopSpin just emailed me that they "can't find my order number" and asked me to send them my receipt. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Should have known that there would be troubles getting the "apology" gift I ordered a month ago.

I have my receipt and I forwarded it to them like they asked. No need for the snap judgement on my level of personal responsibility. My point is that it's ridiculous. I gave them my order number, but they can't find it in the system and needed to be forwarded my original receipt. It's another disappointment by TopSpin, and on the "Sorry we fucked up the first time!" apology gift at that.

No, let me explain a little better.

1. I placed my order as soon as I got the SPRC email on April 24th. Got the confirmation receipt, etc.
2. Waited for shipping confirmation. Forgot about it until a few days ago.
3. Went back to my confirmation, clicked on the "Live Receipt" and went to TopSpin's site. Status was: Acknowledged, Shipping: N/A
4. Checked here and saw others had gotten their copy already.
5. Emailed TopSpin asking about the status and gave them my order # directly from the confirmation to figure out where they were in the process.
6. "Hi Brienna,

Thanks for your email. Unfortunately, the order # you provided didn't pull anything up in our system, and I wasn't able to find any record of an older order either. If possible, could you please resend the receipt you received, so that we can look into this for you?"

7. Sent the receipt over and now I'm waiting to hear back.

I'm nervous that I may not get a copy if they truly did only print 5,000.

Well Im in a similar position as Brievilone except all i got was an email from them when i contact them that they would be shipping mine soon... this was about 2 weeks ago.

I ordered about a minute after i got invited to do so. Ill likely be contacting them again, because it is a little puzzling.

Using an imaginary/ridiculous order number and not contacting them seems to be the best way to get a flexi out of Topspin. :rolleyes:/>

Well it does feel a little bit of a bad move, offering a gift as an apology for mistakes that where apparently out of their control, only to deliver some arbitrary amount and seemingly forget the rest... not sure they have done a great job of winning back support. Now that the pre-orders are up for Oceania I am sort of wondering if i should bother pre-ordering or just get one from a random store.



Oh well.

Hey. On May 22, I found out from Topspin that I had to register to get my gift, and that I was too late. Not overly pleased.

Here is the irony as I see it: many people were inconvenienced by Bandmerch, so the SPRC makes a gift for those inconvenienced (which I appreciate). But then with minimal notice, we have only one week to claim our gift (one e-mail, no last-minute friendly reminders in case some didn't get the message). What about those of us who were on vacation, or moving, or were otherwise too busy to thoroughly check their e-mails that week or were not on the forum 24/7? I check my e-mails as often as I can, but sometimes I fail to notice some. I do not have the gift I was promised (and Topspin says that I won't be getting it since "the SPRC has discontinued this offer"). That struck me funny. I like vinyl, so I would appreciate the gift. In fact, I am buying Oceania in vinyl only, so I can sit down and play it from beginning to end and enjoy the peaceful sounds of my record player.

Am I wrong in saying that this could have been organized better? Couldn't the SPRC or Topspin have gotten the stats of what orders were sent out after they were supposed to, and then simply made sure that there were enough flexidisks for all those inconvenienced, and set a longer period than one lousy week to claim their gift? And that would have avoided sending the gift to people who were not inconvenienced, such as the person above who claims they ordered theirs in 2012 and still got a gift.

Can any of the moderators contact Topspin and make sure that my gift gets sent (provided that they haven't been given away to those who were not promised them). I have placed an order anyways, in the hopes that something will come. I still have some faith in you guys.

(that's from 26 april.)

note that some people applied for the flexi as late as 16 may, and they still received their copy.
so even though they said you had to apply before the end of april, that wasn't really the case.

Billy cancelled what was to be my second Zwan show in 2003 when I had 3 concerts in a row and trains/accommodation booked; I consider that enough of a disappointment/inconvenience for me to deserve my flexi. :lick:/>

Thanks for the reply. I sent an e-mail to Topspin because I wondering whether my complimentary gift was sent since I hadn't received it (obviously I was not in-the-know). I received a reply from Topspin. They included a copy of the original e-mail and said when it was sent. I was rather bummed out, then a couple of days later on May 26, I decided to place the order anyways since I have nothing to lose. I have the receipt in my e-mail, and the status says "pending". If Monte or anyone else can help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

if i understand it correctly, they only send this out in batches. for the people who reacted within the first week, all orders were pending until 30 april. the next batch was may 10 or something, and then another one another ten days later or so. so maybe your status might change to "shipped on ???" in a couple of days.

or did they literally tell you they're no longer sending copies out?

i guess they didn't.

This what I was told in my reply e-mail:

"It does not appear that you claimed your gift prior to the window closing. All flexidisk orders needed to be submitted by 4/30/12. The SPRC has discontinued this offer, and it is no longer possible to request the flexidisk. Apologies for any inconvenience, and thanks for your patience with this issue."

So, Oceania pre-order goes to Amazon. I will NEVER buy anything from Topspin again.

I was DMing with SPRC on Twitter and I said I was also concerned about ordering from the site again because of the issues I'm having. They replied: "Oceania is handled with a different distribution model it should be ok but if u want to get it somewhere else we understand. SPRC"

Try ordering a new one; I know someone who says they ordered less than a week ago and it was shipped, despite it being over a month beyond the date stated on the website.

I still reckon the vast majority of these flexis are sitting at Topspin HQ, gathering dust. I hope the poor bastards who genuinely pre-ordered manage to get their copies eventually. I still can't understand the extent of Topspin incompetence; surely all the order numbers are recorded on their systems? How can they just lose them?

I think I'm just going to call it quits. My order is still pending. It's not worth the stress to simply get the runaround from Topspin or anyone else. If it arrives, it arrives. One less unfinished thing to worry about. And thanks, CoolAsIceCream, for the support. All the best.
