Also Whir.
For piano, I learned For Martha. It's a bit challenging at first, yes, but if you play it a lot you really get it quick. The intro especially. They have tabs all over the place I believe, but it's pretty simple to figure out even by ear.

where boys - simple riff through out the whole song
Acoustic version of rocket.
Starla save for this one part in the middle (where you supposedly hear the sirens) i can't figure out and no tab seems to have it correct.
Today but it gets a lil crazy at first cuz of the chord changes in the 'choruses'

Nothing is that difficult by the pumpkins on guitar and bass apart from some of the guitar solos but even those haven't stopped me much. Break most of the harder songs into playable chunks and then piece them together when you get the hang of them

cherub rock. It has basic chords, is fun to play, and helps you learn to get your hands movin quickly.
I don't know about easiest, it's certainly not solid but there's definitely easier IMO and the guitar solo took me weeks to nail it almost perfectly. It's a great practice song, warms up the fingers

I really think the easiest song to play in Eb tuning is Where Boys Fear To Tread
and in E tuning: Today and Starla.

A bunch of people I know used to insist this song was in drop-D, but yes this is a very simple riff and very easy to noodle around with in a way that sounds very Smashing Pumpkins-y without knowing a lot about guitar.
"X.Y.U" is pretty easy too, minus the noise solo at the end.

and for drums, probably mayonaise. there are easier songs on drums like for example luna or galapogos, but nobody's gonna want to play along with those songs on drums....

i tried memorizing that chord progression once and found it impossible. just when i thought it was getting to a pattern it would change a little. hell i even wrote it all down and tried to make sense of it and gave up.
33 is damn easy to play. i can't imagine 1979 sounding that good on piano...zero is one of the easiest songs to play on guitar ever. the chords to a lot of sp songs can be easily memorized, what i learned from trying to play sp was this kind of finesse i guess in bill's playing, and the attn given to dynamics, very thoughtful playing even on sth damn simple like today or disarm, anyone can play those songs but if you really pay attn to his playing you see a lot of nuances that i guess just come naturally to someone w/ talent to burn. billy could shred metal all day but it's the dynamics that made him great. there's a lot of great examples but soma comes to mind instantly. so soft then so brutal.
