Yes. Although, I get that there could be some costs to even setting it up/figuring out what to put on the kickstarter. But the band wouldn't have to go and make product until the kickstarter "made."

The advantage to the USBs, as I see it, is primarily for the band. It may end up being cheaper and simpler for the band to burn everything to USB and ship it than it is for them to buy/manage the bandwidth and checkout process for all the downloads. Now, if they already have a partnership with Topspin for the downloads, then no, a USB wouldn't seem necessary.
I personally would prefer a download, but if it was better for the band I would buy a USB. I guess I can see why someone would like a USB if they just plain like physical products, but they would be seemingly hard to display.
