im legitimately asking here for people that hate this song, whats the problem with it outside the la la la's
I've always liked P&C. It's got that beautiful-sadness adore type feel to it and killer guitar wankery ala The Last Song to close it out. It's definitely not a song I'd rock out in my car to or use to introduce new fans. But i consider it to be a worthy piece for the SP catalog.

Widow for me is a decent song to me. I have to be in real high spirits to enjoy it to the max.

Pomp and Circumstances is a great little piece of melody and emotion. It was instantly one of my favorites on my first listen through Zeitgeist, and remains as such. I imagine certain listeners just have a problem with the "la la la" hook... but *shrug*, feels good man.

I just listened P&C, simply because I couldn't remember what you were referring to, and I have to admit: the soloing at the end is great; it reminds me a little of the end of Untitled. However, I think that just highlights a problem with Pumpkins songs of this era:
My favourite songs on Zeitgeist are Stellar and Ma Belle, but I have to admit that's only really because, at 03.27 and 02.37 respectively, something interesting happens to drag each song out of mediocrity, and hint at the Corgan magic that used to be so prevalent. I could quite happily listen to those two isolated sections without the rest of the songs, and not miss anything. The clean vocals on Stellar are really quite painful to listen to, and the rest of the song is little more than sub-TFE noodling. Ma Belle is a pretty generic rock song, but it has that euphoric release; it's a pity that everything else is forgettable, and only exists only to build up to it.

Even the climax of Ma Belle is not enough to safe the awfulness of that song for me.
Any announcement of the announcement of the unofficial official premiere in two days already??
Coop, it was already made. Streaming from iTunes on tuesday. Personally i was hoping for that multimedia experience Corgan talked about a while back (i assumed they were going to edit something together using all of the "imagine oceania" submissions or something like that).

Yeah did someone drop the ball on this one? I don't think its been said anywhere except Hipsters United and Crestfallen that its going to stream on iTunes. Even the website of the radio show where Billy announced it doesn't include the iTunes information, only if you listen to the segment of when Billy is on do you hear about it.

i see your still avoiding the question but whatever i at least technically got a reply, even if he was talking more about stellar and ma belle than anything

the vocals sound good on a few songs though, one diamond in particular would be pretty meh without them(based off samples), celestials i think sounds great with the vocals, so does most of the album really, its just wildflower where the vocals kill it, and quasar is shit regardless of vocals or not, thats just a horrendous song

that's the first time I commented Pomp I think, maybe you confuse me with another poster. If I criticized P+C before in this fashion than i was just horsing around. Honestly, to me it's an ok song, i certainly don't mind the la-la-la's as much as i do in Tom Tom e.g., and the sound is a fine ethereal soundscape, a bit too new age for me, i prefer my shoegaze a bit more profound. But still a fine song, just not too memorable compared with other pumpkins songs it falls a bit flat.
but better ask a real p+c hater, cause hey i'm not the zeitgeist hater here, i'm the teargarden hater!
Is that the answer you wanted?
you're welcome
