hey his band definitely isn't better than sp's new stuff but it isn't terrible either.

But even then, thats like comparing Machina to Gish. Sure, there's a level on which you can do that, but it'll only get you so far. It denies the growth that is inherently going to happen with an artist that is around for 5+ years. It's like those "spot the differences" images. It's easy to compare two images that are only moderately tweaked. But take two very different images, and the amount of comparison is endless.

Ive come to the conclusion that I should stay off Pumpkins message boards. I absolutely cannot stand most other SP fans for reasons like this thread. For every level headed Pumpkins fan who will have logical and civil discussions, there are 20 more with their heads planted firmly up their asses. I love the band but the majority of the vocal "fanbase" is shit with absolutely zero perspective, and their viewpoints always seem to be tied to blind nostalgia.
