wait always hated synths, gasp tell me you didnt hate try try try, that songs one of their best

huh wasnt expecting any good reviews, still calling it that rolling stones will give this a 2.5 if not lower

in songs like try try try is had a good mix of guitars and synths, and the song was just that good it ddint bother me. i just dont like them when theyre not necessary or they are too overpowering, owata for example

Isnt that wierd? or the initial reviews are made by one or two guys, and then there´s a general review?

No, they make a review then change the score happening on how the public reacted to it, pitchfork has also done this

Curiosly i have never putted zeitgeit on the same scale of machina, but apparently the world thinks zeitgeist is better...wierd very wierd!!!

From Pitchfork:
http://www.pitchfork...0409-zeitgeist/

Zeitgeist - 4.9

http://www.pitchfork...achines-of-god/

Machina - 4.2

http://www.pitchfork...song-for-a-son/

Song for a son - not rated but not a good review!

Now i´m curios about Oceania!!!

pitchfork are just mindless drones as well as rolling stone, just ignore them entirely or else you wont find as much good music as you normally would.

pitchfork will probably give it a 4.(X) or lower

Fuck critics for everything: music, movies, games. they are all rushing reviews and listening to stuff they wont give fair views on since its their job. They are just mindless drones that never truly appreciate music unless its a band they listen to in their off time. Im not just saying that over the low SP reviews i mean in its entirety reviewers are pointless. They are meant to show us whats good or bad but in reality we dont need that anymore we can see for ourselves.

I partially agree, but you know that in general their reviews "follow" world wide opinions right?

P4K was officially marginalized as a credible music source, when it gave Kanye West a 10. Literally one of the worst pieces of music ever to be released (and I'm fairly unbiased).

Their reviews make as many headlines as the music, and they've learned to market that.

The last Kanye album is the best piece of music in recent memory. It's a masterpiece.

yeah but everyone wants to dickride Kanye West right?

I'm disgusted that the new Gatsby movie trailer uses a Watch the Throne song, I'm even more disgusted I found it so catchy I downloaded the track :/

the reason i gave up on music reviews was actually over something really juvenile but it ended up paying off

it was because one (professional) reviewer gave this album a 1/5 and even said bieber had more talent

it had like a bad track on it(living without love), the rest is pure emotion into music

First time they have been here in the Detroit area since 1997

I seem them at Lollapalooza in 2008 and that started me really liking their music..

Actually, these two tracks are the only ones I like on this album. Daybreak is fucking amazing, it gets really prog, takes them in a whole new direction, and Undress Me is classic Saves The Day. The problem is, Daybreak opens the album, sets the bar really really high, thinking "holy shit, these guys have gotten really good" then immediately follow that with Let It All Go, which is just whiny emo pop, and it kills all the momentum, and from there on, the album doesn't get really good again until Undress Me, which is the last track. 2 awesome bookends with a bunch of disappointing filler...Sound The Alarm is still my favorite Saves The Day album, I wish they would have continued down that path, because Under The Boards was a step back toward their early sound, and Daybreak takes it even further, aside from those 2 tracks.

i thought the entire album was pure from the heart emotion all laid out in musical form, also let it all go is probably the closest saves the day has sounded to their old sutff, undress me sounds aboslutly nothing like their old stuff, not even close. i frankly need toi ask if you've even heard their old stuff if your saying undress me is similar cause this is what they sounded like

you seriously cant hear the emotion in this song? especially in the instruments at 1:14

also never EVER go into a saves the day album expecting something like the old, thats the reason you dislike the album, saves the day has never put out a single album that sounds the same even from their first album, thats been the #1 rule for STD since their start

First off, yes, I've heard their OLD stuff, and I'm not a big fan of most of it, even 10 years ago I wasn't. I didn't really get into them until Stay What You Are, and like I said, my favorite album is Sound The Alarm, I think Undress Me reminds me of those two albums more than anything.

E is not a bad song, Chameleon and 1984 are pretty decent too, I just don't feel them nearly as much as Daybreak and Undress Me.

Sorry if I offended you, I honestly wasn't trying to bash the album, I'm really looking forward to their next one. The first thing I said when I listened to this album for the first time was "I'm not really into most of it, but the first and last tracks are good enough for me to actually consider it a good album", I can't say enough good things about them.

Also, I would never expect them, or anyone, to make the same album over and over, that is one thing that turns me off of a band immediately, hence the reason I'm a fan of bands like SP, Thursday, The Mars Volta, and AFI. That was what I liked about Sound The Alarm, it was so much darker and more aggressive than anything they had done before.

Well word on the street is that it leaked, saw a post on Hatephoria saying Violet Rays and Quasar are really good. Not sure if it's legit or not but Violet Rays definitely stuck out to me.

Can't wait to listen tomorrow (or maybe tonight depending on what time zone they're basing it off of?!)

So wait...there are reviews popping up as of a few days ago. I don't understand why such a big deal was made of "everyone will hear it at once". Obviously not. I honestly don't care if a few reviewers hear it before I do...that has never bothered me before, it wouldn't matter with this album. I just don't get all the hype about that when it isn't even true.

Much of what Corgan has said about Teargarden / Oceania hasn't been true.

It's only one or two reviews, stop the drama. Obviously somebody will listen to the album before the public, but the album wans't sent to a magazine for they spread the news first. That's the point.

Yeah, as usual, but this was his big selling point in every interview and press release we've seen, I never understood why that was such a big deal, but to find out it's not even real... :lol:/>

There's no drama. I couldn't give a fuck who hears the album before I do, I just don't get why that was a big selling point that he has been sure to mention at every possible opportunity.

Fuck. Do I actually have to install itunes to do this? This better be worth it, since I'll be forced to install a bunch of bullshit apple bloatware along with it.

It is up but currently not playing. Maybe midnight UK time I reckon. It only came up about 30 minutes ago. It says "Listen to Oceania for Free" and there is a link but nothing happens when I press play.

Yeah, fuck all that noise. I'll just wait a week until the album comes out. I refuse to humor iTunes in any way, shape or form.

Yeah. Try to uninstall itunes and all the garbage it puts on your computer and get back to me. I'm still finding remnants of it 3 years after switching to Zune.

I'm sure it will show up somewhere else in a day or so. I've waited this long.
