This is all going down at Billy's studio, yes? It's been stated that rehearsals are happening simultaneously with recording, and with archival audio work. I'm sure the electric drum kit is to help control volume and minimize sound bleed from room to room in the studio where other audio projects are being worked on.

na.. everything has been recorded / tracked now. they would be no point in mixing if there were still things to record.. these are the final mixes he's talking about.

still a long way to go however because it took a month to master the 4 songs on songs for a sailor, or so it seemed from the outside looking in.
