The scope of archival material currently under consideration includes professionally taped or filmed live shows, soundboard recordings, unreleased songs, demos and alternate takes.
Fan input is essential to this project. Here are three ways fans can contribute:

Other than that, I'm willing to pay for live shows, soundboard recordings, alternate takes, demos, or unreleased songs if the price is right. Digital or physical release is fine.

In regards to live vs. studio material, I am personally more interested in the studio/ demo recordings that exist. Though, of course, quality recorded shows or notable shows over the band's history hold a great deal of interest for me as well.
In particular, the following are specific items I would LOVE to see come out in some form:
- Any completed studio tracks that remain unreleased from any era of the band, specifically (if they do exist) of the following songs: Speed, Towers of Rabble, Methusela, Wishing You Were, Let Me Give the World to You, Magna Mellow, I Feel Love, Elsie, Dick or Peter.
- Audio/ Video for all 4 Complete Double Door '95 performances.
- Video for Brixton Academy ('96), Detroit ('99), Final Metro ('00), Paris Reunion ('07)
- All Pastichio Medley demos, as well as any other unreleased Mellon Collie era recordings.
- All songs demoed/ completed from the Adore sessions (1996-1998)
- Demo/ studio cuts of the 2007 Residency material
- All demos for Teargarden material (2008-present)
- All unreleased studio/ demo Zwan material
- Future Embrace/ Zeitgeist demos
While I do love physical releases as well, I don't feel they are always a necessity. In some cases, the items that hold a little more commercial potential (Final Metro, unreleased studio tracks), I could see physical releases being a financially viable option, but if a lot of demos came out as digital only (as the SPRC demos have been so far), I see no problem in that at all.
Pricing…. that's tough to gauge. I remember that was a big point of contention when Quinto was working on the Archives a few years back, even though at that point, pricing was just throwing around hypothetical numbers. I think if there's free content being released concurrently with the "for sale" items, that will keep most of the potential whiners at bay. Additionally, people don't seem to like spending a lot of money for one particular item, even if that item is overflowing with content (a mindset I don't understand, but whatever….). I don't think there's anything wrong with a live box set (3-4 discs) fetching $25, for example. Or a disc of unreleased studio tracks going for $10. A 2 disc live DVD seems fair at $18. But again, it's hard to say if I'm the only one who feels that way re: price.
Regardless, I always get excited over the prospects of these archival releases. I think one of the biggest past problems that should be avoided actually doesn't have to do with the content, but with the fan relations. Regular updates on content, both informationally and in the delivery of the items, has been a problem in the past. Going months without any information, or months with only one demo released discourages fans. That's not to say that the expectation is for a CDs worth of stuff every day, by any means. But dry spells and no updates frustrates people and generates negativity.

The Arising Tour
Yes, yes, and yes! Such incredible, powerful shows, blistering versions of Adore songs, Machina-era tracks that differ greatly from their released versions, and the last stand of the classic line-up. There are some quality bootlegs out there, but knowing the whole tour was filmed, but never released apart from the 3 miniscule poor-quality clips, and a few seconds of footage from "Graceful Swans of Never" kills me.

billy has the recordings, that's what i want. we should be able to buy a bootleg from any show at any time, or get it for free off of the archives.org website, if they have it.
metallica has it set up so you can buy a digital copy or a physical copy with an option to buy artwork with it.
i would like to see sprc set up like this, along with everything else they are doing.

I also think its a shame that the Live Smashing Pumpkins recordings were taken down. The mastered 20th Anniversary Shows sounded great, and as someone who wasn't a fan at the time, I would have liked to have gotten a physical copy of a Black Crosses/White Sunshine two night stand.
Mastered Viper Room/Bridge School Benefit recordings would be sweet as well.
This is really excitting. :)/>
As far as pricing goes, I think the band, or someone in management should basically decide. We don'y get a say in what a cd costs; if the product is available for a reaosnable price, people (at least those here) will buy it.
Conversly, I think a kickstarter type thing could work well (it obviously worked for the Cold And Lovely and I think the Pumpkins have a much wider fanbase).

Good idea! The Pumpkins have received nothing from bootlegged material so this would be a great way to go and support SP

Also, that Tulin demos idea is brilliant.
Zeitgeist demos, and everything that has been done after zeitgeist, all tbk songs, scrapped songs, SITS, Backwards Clock Society,
what happened to getting Pre-Gish material? we never really got any of that either.
an instrumentals only release could be cool and quirky (Pistachio Medley added)
I want this show to be available for purchase video + audio 05/21/1998 - Guggenheim Art Museum; Bilbao, ES

Give me the demos. Or us. Give us the demos.
Adultswim (the channel) has an option to make your own DVD's of their shows. You can mix and match episodes from series to construct mix DVD's. For example, two episodes of Delocated, two episodes of Tim and Eric, one Xavier. Whatever you'd like. But it's not made until you purchase it.
I know there are substantial costs for mastering, but once they're done, you could print a CD as they're purchased.
Sell the Tulin/TGBK demos online. The sales wont be humongous, but they'd be enough to pay off mastering and make a profit, however small.

-an offical VH1 story tellers release
-the webisodes are a good hit, that type of thing is awesome for any song!
-im a big fan of odd/neat facts
- the "last show" at the metro- so much energy in that show from the band.
-Video for Brixton Academy ('96), Detroit ('99), Final Metro ('00), Paris Reunion ('07)
-the "Sweet Home Alabama" cover
-Machina Demos
-bed room demos/recordings
-im also a fan of the "Tulin demos" idea
-I appreciate the art of all this. I like when i can see the art unfold. being able to have some sort of physical release brings us as fans closer to the appreciated art

Of course the one on IAGW is pretty good imo and I would like that one to be released instead of it sitting on a dvd.

2) Be transparent; reveal who this team are. If people get even the faintest whiff of a rat, this isn't going to work
3) Score an early win - release the damn Metro Show
4) [a] Consult the fans who know, who really know, the history and availability of current bootlegs/material
4) [b] DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE EXCLUDE Netphoria or any other long standing message board; speak to at least CoolAsIceCream, 34, Redbull, Spaldz and PistolPete
5) [a] Do not, DO NOT, bandy about pricing, release models, packaging or anything else for a product which does not exist. Seriously, I repeat, do not do this again
5) [b] If a real archivist has been at work, seriously, if you had a real archivist on this project - listen carefully and;
release the catalogue for the fans to understand what the base library actually is.
Make it easy for them to understand; apportion said library into sections by era and media. Then rate, with examples, quality of said media in it's raw format.
5 [c] Define your objectives (is this about releasing quality or quantity). This will help inform said fans what sort of pricing structure they may wish to consider for said material
6 Stop being vague. Stop it. Seriously
7) [a]Thus, again, create Samples
7) [b] and create direct feedback model against said samples ie; polls
8) Do not release anything post 2008
9) Do not listen to ANYONE who touts GM Palace 1997 as there favourite boot
10) Do not listen to ANYONE who touts post 2008 material as superior, in any shape or form, to any previous work. Even Blinking with Fists
11) Know your demographic: Listen very carefully, to this; your fans are not, in the main, idiots. Please stop treating us as such with running such an amateur outfit. You have already, once again, opened the flood gates for people to be disappointed that you haven't considered their own absolutely ground-breaking idea; there is no way on this planet that you are going to be able to aggregate the multitude of vague recommendations / demands / ideas which will inevitably pop-up. Start again. Make clear you vision and your values for the project, explain how and what you want to deliver and then and then open it up to consultation
13) GET. IT. DONE.
