Any Pumpkins fans based in London or nearby interested in a potential meet up? I am, which is why I'm open to dates and suggestions. Let's get this happening!

I'm 45 minutes on a train from London, went to two previous myspace meet-ups and wouldn't mind attending another. For dates i'd say wait until after christmas, a good time might be to do it in february or march when people have money again. The last UK non-gig meetup i went too was in 2007 to celebrate Billy's 40th birthday, maybe we can do something to celebrate his 45th but that's only a suggestion.

Just need to find a decent venue, get a show of hands to find out who's in and if there's a fair few of us then we'll just have to ring around to see if someone can accomodate us.

I'm up for helping out with this if you need it. I missed the UK tour of SP and it would still be cool to have a meet up where we can just talk shop all evening.

Yeah exactly well I'm down with anything I just need everyone to decide on a date. So yeah let's set that date and then we can talk turkey (or pumpkin).

Long time no speak Mr Space, i think the last time i saw you was in Paris. The pub we held it in burnt down not long after :whattodo:/>

We might have even seen one another during the Zavvi signings at Oxford Street, prior to o2 Arena show, back in 2008.
And after Paris, there was Reading Festival as well :D/>

February is fine, i'll need a couple of weeks notice in case i have to re-arrange shifts at work.

Is anyone still thinking of doing a meetup?

Billy's birthday is saturday- so we are a bit late for that, but maybe another time soon?

i was at the zavvi signing too!
i didn't get anything signed though. i got there late and hungover. (not that i ever had the intention to show up on time.) someone offered me a wristband, but i didn't accept it.

and i went to meetups before the 2007 and 2008 london shows. one was at a pub next to the shepherd's bush empire, the other one was at a pub called the intrepid fox.

CoolAsIceCream just likes to show up and make sure everyone is having a nice time. Signings aren't all about signing stuff, ya know..

i just wanted to meet up people before the show. the signing was where everyone was at, so it was the place to be. i met up with machinist and some others there. i bought chocolate muffins for breakfast and had them when we left zavvi.
signing stuff is ridiculous anyway. what's the point? and the fact that they meet 20 people per minute makes it even more worthless. they won't even look at 90% of the people. even though they spent hours waiting in line for that moment. lol. sad. you know.

one girl was crying. because billy only signed about ten of the twenty-something cds she brought. and also because meeting him kind of made it the most important day in her life to her, i believe. and i guess things didn't go as she had hoped.

she wasn't having a nice time. i was a bit freaked out by her, so i didn't even try to help.

As much as I love the pumpkins, I've found some of the fans I've met in the UK quite annoying, but I don't mind chatting to some of the female fans.

I think I've met all the SP fans I could ever handle. I doubt i'd be near London anymore if SP come back this way again anyways.

this thread got me all nostalgic. those meetups a few years ago were great, we should have another one. i still have my sealed promo copy of Rotten Apples but the TEITBITE remix cd remains in rotation to this day ^^ it would only be fair if i host the quiz this time.

if anyone wants to make this event happen PM me and we'll fix it up.

sup ash. your quiz was fine! the only thing that sucks about writing one though is knowing that few participants, if any, are actually going to be very knowledgeable about deeper band trivia, which is kind of the whole point. in fact i'm pretty sure that if i write the quiz next time, you'd probably win!

if we're going to do this we should organize it around the oceania release date, maybe we could all have a first listen together in a pub?

Long time no see :)/> Oceania is a little under 3 weeks, not much time to get things organised but if you can get something together then sure. I work different shifts at work so i'd need a bit of notice to book the time off work if it doesn't fall on a day off.
