Hey guys! Smashing Pumpkins are standing infront of you playing fucking TODAY! It sounds better than any time since the Mellon Collie tour. Why are you not jumping up and down like loons?!

I'm not suggesting slam pits or anything. But who grows out of dancing?

i don't act crazy at concerts...i actually enjoy simply observing the band carefully. to me, there's no point in going, getting fucked up and beating the shit out of eachother, and then not being able remember the concert at all the next day. unless i get to go to concerts all the time, which isn't the case.

That's not what I mean though- it's not 1994 anymore, I'm aware of that. I'm not saying someone should start forming a circle pit... It's just that audience are not only not dancing, they're looking actively miserable.

Although actually, they most resemble the crowd watching SP in the Simpsons, so maybe it figures...

I was at the concert. It was such a small crowd, so I really didn't know what to expect, but most of the audience seemed dead the whole time. I was happy to see a lot of people besides myself singing along to Quasar, Panopticon, and the Celestials though :happy:/>

This is the ME-dia generation you're looking at now, and we're more concerned w/ generating good visuals for our social nutworks than to actually enjoying what's right in front us when it's here http://www.smashingpumpkins.com/board_new/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes2.gif

You know what's funny is Kroq in Los Angeles played Rhinoceros way more than they did Today. Don't get me wrong Today is a good song. However, the Siamese Dream album at the time in 1993 wasn't nearly as big as Mellon Collie or Gish(only rhinoceros). But for some very strange reason there were many reviews saying Siamese Dream was their greatest album ever. Maybe everyone plays guitar nowadays. It's a pretty simple song to play. I love the Pumpkins! XYU gets more praise...

I agree. In 1993, Siamese Dream wasn't nearly as big as Mellon Collie.

Fuck yeah! SilverDuck, can we please start a crazy-faced rock-out revolution?

:cheers:/>

Seriously, the point of loud rock music in concert is to let it blast through your body and make you go a little crazy. All these people standing around checking their phones and staring half-dead at the musicians are KILLING ROCK!

I was at this show. It was very radio promo publicity like. It wasn't like going to a typical show at all. It was a lot of fun and they sounded great, but most of the people there were very much more into their iphone's than the band blasting them full of noise. Plus, they should totally play LOUDER. It was a good volume, but, I remember my ears ringing for weeks after a SP show.

This audience should take a cue from Arcade Fire's Grammy performance and do motorcycle stunts during Today.
