The Gish front cover or the back cover as well? I'm wondering if there's one of both the front and back cover for both albums.

Also, I wasn't expecting all this TBK EP2-like shininess when I picked them up this morning.

I'm not necessarily loving the remastered SD; it's definitely got more "punch", but it sounds to my ears like Billy's vocals sound drier and the drums are a little muddy.

i concur

If only. We've still gotta wade through Pisces and the Pre-Gish album before he'll drop us that bone. I'm already convinced I will lose all bodily functions if/when the Aeroplane vinyl box set comes out.

Pre Gish Album? Link?

I'm gonna pass on all the vinyl reissues. my originals are just fine.

Got the Apple lossless downloaded. They sound pretty good - I'm no audiophile, I really only listen to music on my iphone these days, so this is as good as it gets.

My brother says "why remaster a masterpiece?" and I see what he's saying. I realize this isn't a different mix of the album at all, and it could simply be my old ears having listened hundreds of times to the original version, but I'm not seeing a real improvement.

It's been fun to get high-quality versions of the extra songs, particularly the stuff I've never heard before, and overall it's been better than I thought, but I'm not blown away by the remaster, in the same way I was for The Beatles remasters or say Murmur & Reckoning.

Well, you can't really fix something that's not broken. Gish sounds pretty stellar, and I think that Mellon Collie is also going to benefit greatly from a remaster/remix.

i hope they dont actually remix it. AM and Flood did a really great job. a fresh remaster is all that`s needed.

While overall I like the production on MCIS, it would be interesting to hear a different mix.

I'd love an option of a straight remaster of MCIS and a remixed version - some of the tracks the production just didn't seem full to me, but I'm no expert.

One of those SPRC meeting videos from the tour. I can't recall off hand which one. But he mentioned in addition to Pisces, they'll be doing a Pre-Gish album. It wasn't stated specifically whether it would just be a digital collection, or if it would get a physical release.

I should have known that Billy's track by track commentary would comprise of mostly cryptic babbling. Can someone explain Soma to me? Robot eagles? Vampires? If Billy had not stated that this song dealt with infidelity in the Matt Pinfield interview, then I would not have a clue what he was trying to say. I can only imagine what he is going to come up with when he is ready to release MCIS. Aside from that, it is a really nice set. I cannot wait for MCIS and Adore.

snail really screwed the pooch on that fact of life. As much as I do like Machina 1, Machina 2 is superior.

Tracks 1-8 on Machina 2 is some of the best Pumpkins music and sequencing of all time.

Maybe they're not the best standalone's, but in context they're delish. You hear me snail? Delish.

innocence is actually a great song. there is some real complexity buried in there once youve listened to it a few times. it also serves as a great setup for Home.

Innocence irritates me every time I hear it. Infinitely more so than Because You Are. Home is great though, as is most of the rest of MII.

Home is one of the best songs they ever made.

And yet I think the same of Sacred and Profane, and Wound...

I would have to add my vote to the minority Machina > Machina II pile, but just barely.

I can't wait till my SD reissue gets here.. I'm so psyched for Apathy's Last Kiss! It's always been one of my favorite rarities, but I never cared for the mix. I love the solid acoustic sound of the reissue version..

And of course I'm excited for the liner notes, and the original disc.

Also, for the sake of the whole Machina vs Machina 2 argument...

I like certain songs off of Machina 2 probably more so than any single songs on Machina, but I prefer Machina as a whole, because Machina 2 is just so cluttered and off the wall to me. Having said, Slow Dawn, In My Body, White Spyder, and especially If There Is A God are some of my favorite SP songs.
