he said they were going down the rabbit hole.. whatever that means.
i took it they would be darker songs, but more akin to thru the eyes of ruby than anything.. but just now i get a feeling oceania will be more like lonely than anything else. doesn't sound like a heavy album title! but who knows... exciting times :)/>

1. As Rome Burns
2. Emerald Green is the Colour
3. Lonely is the Name
4. West Coast
5. My Love is Winter
6. Make it Happen
7. When the Cocks Crow
8. Circular Change
9. Caroline, Yes
10. Into the Light
11. The March Hare
At least that way EVERYTHING we know would be taken care of and done with, with nothing but new, unheard songs afterwards.

I'd be down with that except for WTCC and Into the Light. :)/>

this. but we probably will get it and other Residency songs in 2014, with Zeitgeist reissue, hopefully. Billy wrote that he has recorded all of these songs at least in demo form.
DEC 10th
FROM Fernando Ramires Hello, Billy. I have some questions: Are you thinking about recording any song from the past tours, like 99 Floors, Peace + Love or even Gossamer?
BC: we have discussed recording Gossamer for Teargarden, but my guess is it probably won't happen as it is essentially seen by me as a Zeitgeist song. there is an aborted Zeitgeist sessions versions that is kinda cool, albeit rough and unfinished. as for 99 floors/peace and love and others from that time there are live solo studio demo versions recorded in Sweden just after the SF residency. they sound really good and could easily be added to/overdubed. those would see the light of day when the inevitable Zeitgeist re-issue comes out. i get full rights back to Zwan/Future Embrace/Zeit in about 4 years Zwan would be first up. 60+ unreleased songs. the 'plan' is to line up everything business wise so that EVERYTHING substantial and worthy of release would see the light of day. with old SP it of course revolves around EMI, the other Warner Brothers stuff is just a waiting game until the rights clear.

I get that Oceania is supposed to be an album w/in and album...but has it been said that the songs from Oceania "count" towards the 44 which was said to be the length of Teargarden....or does they count as a bonus album?

so lets stop acting like the Spirits songs are album worthy, and the same with "my love is winter" and "lonely". im really surprised how low everyones standards are becoming....

Lonely is Machina worthy. Quasar sounds like Siamese Dream. As Rome Burns sounds like Mellon Collie. My Love Is Winter is only OK. But the other three would be great additions.

I genuinely enjoy a fair amount of the Spirits material and wouldn't mind seeing the rest of it show up. And I think it's safe to say I'm known around here for being pretty critical of the post-reunion material. The songs themselves tend to be good, but he has had a knack for doing a particularly shitty job recording them. MLIW, Lonely, Rome are also pretty good, but again, it comes down to how well they end up translating in the studio. At this point, I think the best results would come from them just tracking the band live with minimal overdubs. The live versions of Sprits/ 07 Residency/ Post-Jimmy material all tend to be quite good. It's the over-thinking, layering, polishing in the studio that tends to ruin them.

Stop living in the fucking past!
I'd rather hear new material. something that the whole band is part of.... When was the last time an SP album was released that had input from more than two band members?
Issue all the "lost" SP material 2007-2010 on a compilation someday in the future...after the Zwan and Solo crap gets reissued.

My obsession with the Double Door '95 soundboards is me living in the past.
Wanting a few songs that were written in 2009 to end up on a 2011 album is not.

i hope for completely new songs. now corgan has a last chance to prove that he´s still able to make a good album. zeitgeist was a catastrophe, and teargarde so far wasn´t mind blowing too.
so oceania is a last chance to come back into the spotlight

We will see though.
If you are referring to that ridiculous "Noah's Ark" song title, then don't hold your breath. A similar tracklisting floated about for EP 2...something to the effect of this:
1) Freak
2) Tom Tom
3) As Rome Burns
4) Noah's Ark
We all know that was a hoax. Probably somebody taking advantage of the gullible.
This is the internet. Believe NOTHING...until you have a solid source. ;)/>
