I think mastering doesn't take a long time. Maybe 1 or 2 weeks.

That long? Jeez.

Okay, so if mixing is done Sept. 22nd (ish) then mastering should be done around October 3rd (ish). If it's the "November area" that's a month later. If there's going to be months between digital and physical releases, why wait til digital comes out? Promotion of digital??????

Actually, you can master a song in about one hour. Anyway, it could take more time... but Billy said Oceania will be finished in about 1 week and I think he's counting mastering and everything.

Yeah, please, someone, record this on a good audio deck. I'd much rather have good audio than video. Having both is nice (eg the Petaluma DVD Monte made), but good video without good audio is kind of a cocktease since what I'm mostly interested in is the music, not imagery of Billy et al.

The 2010 really show a dropoff in the taping community. I'm not sure if that's because a lot of tapers quit paying attention when Jimmy left, or because they weren't playing a ton of brand new songs on that tour. I'm just kind of terrified what's going to happen on this tour.

EDIT: Although I guess Billy tweeted about trying to make the live shows available online again this time. Now THERE'S a question for Bill's corner.

Pretty amazing if his original estimate of when we'd hear it is only off by a couple of months.

I'm going to the show on October 5 so hopefully I'll hear some of it then.

Mastering does not take long depending on the project. It's really just making the levels releatively the same for a number of songs so that the final product has isn't all over the place volume-wise/eq wise. I would anticipate this would only take a couple days at most for Oash. If it were recorded in a bunch of different studios with a bunch of different engineers/producers recording at different levels, it could take much longer.

The studio I used to work at would master/remaster a 13 track album in under 8 hours.

The Coronation Failure
The Parade of Helios

b-sides? anyone recognize these titles?

Yep - there are the 13 songs :D/>

Except it looks like the official title is "Four Winds Chime".

Are those b-sides at the bottom? Charades, The Coronation of Failure (I think), The P... of Helios or Heroes?

Don't like to admit it, but I'm stoked for this, really exciting!

Billy Billy Corgan Oceania is done... I am so proud of this record, and this band.5 uur geleden

On a sidenote, some wishful part of me still wants Pinwheels to "turn your way / turn... your way"

What do u mean by that? Isn't it supposed to be the same song that had 3 tentative titles?

I think they mean the song title is still Quasar an hasn't been changed like Lightning Strikes.
