Reminds me a bit of a slowed down take on "Age of Consent" by New Order at times... I definatley need to hear a higher quality audio though.. sounds really pretty

The lead guitar melody shines up the darkest heart. This song is very pretty. <3/>

this song is absolutely fan fucking tastic. What the hell is going on BC? His voice is soaring in all the ways needed. I like how there is no climax. This might be my second favorite.

Agree with the New Order thing, even Joy Division comes to mind (Ceremony was a Joy Division song after all).

'cause you don't deserve me, no, but I deserve youuuu

Such a good line. You know which way he means "deserve" in each case, just by the way he says it. Also, I can hear him playing with vocal harmonics on the sustained "you," I'm fairly sure. If this song can hold onto it's balls in studio, then I like it.

I think I posted this on the Oakland thread, but the synth/programming at the beginning sounds like Bjork to me.

Honestly, the mix on the soundboard recordings is too bass and drums heavy for my liking. #guitarplayerbias

I tried my hand and ears at deciphering the lyrics. It is pretty.

Mother Earth
Mistress of the Sun
Say, I've got you, I've got you
Sisters Sun
The lovers of the tomb/tune?
Say, I've got you, I've got you

Floating away, I think I'll stay
As for you
Floating away, I think I'll stay
In the moonlight
Floating away, I think I'll stay
Next to you
????
Cuz you don't deserve me
But I know that I deserve you

Mother Earth
Mistress of the Sun
Say, I've got you, I've got you
Sisters Sun
The lovers of the tomb/tune?
Say, I've got you, I've got you

Mother Earth
Mistress of the Sun
Say, I've got you, I've got you
Sisters Sun
The lovers of the tomb/tune?
Say, I've got you, I've got you
Oh I've got you
Oh I've got you, mother moon

Floating away, I think I'll stay
Next to you
Finding a way to make the loss ?
Floating away, I think I'll stay
????
Finding a way to make the loss ?
Floating away, I think I'll stay
Cuz you don't deserve me
But I deserve you
???
???
??? lost, if I've got you

Mother Moon(?)
Mistress of the Sun
Say, I've got you, I've got you
Sisters Sun
Love is our tune (?)
Say, I've got you, I've got you

Floating away, I think I'll stay
Ask if you use
Floating away, I think I'll stay
In the moonlight
Floating away, I think I'll stay
Next to you
Finding a way to make my life in you(?)
Cuz you don't deserve me
But I know that I deserve you

Mother Moon (?)
Mistress of the Sun
Say, I've got you, I've got you
Sisters Sun
When love is our tune?
Say, I've got you, I've got you

Mother Moon
Mistress of the Sun
Say, I've got you, I've got you
Oh, I've got you
Oh, I've got you
Mother Moon

Floating away, I think I'll stay
Next to you
Finding a way to make the loss ?
Floating away, I think I'll stay
as refused
Finding a way to make the loss ?
Cuz you don't deserve me
But I deserve you
Ask for the ____ queen
???
And all I have
Is what I lost, if I've got you

I think so, too. Yet, I also feel like the two are incomparable. They are two very different songs that sound very different, musically and thematically. I also think it is very impressive that a 23 or 24 year old Billy Corgan wrote such an amazing song.

Haha my sentiments exactly. But only because I fell in love at the Oakland show and Pinwheels was playing. To be fair though, they are both wonderful songs in their own right.

Such a pretty, pretty song.

I dunno about topping Soma, but this song is stunning. The atmospherics crossed with the imagery and Billy's surprisingly excellent vocals...just awesome. Cannot wait for this song. Scratch that. I cannot wait for this RECORD.
