The synths in Lightening Strikes sound like Cheap Trick. The synths in Owata sound like music for the Legend Of Zelda.

OK? Still sounds like them when they did. Don't make me list songs... that would be humiliating for the board's rock historian.

Live version: 8/10
Studio: 6/10

The synth fits much better in Owata than Lightning Strikes, but I'm way more into the live version with Jeff's cool guitar part.

you know what? yeah, upon further recall, they used keyboards a fair deal, albeit pretty subtly. they weren't necessarily "synths", though. might have just been organs, electric piano/rhodes pianos, etc.

snail, you warm the cockles of my loin. Even in admitting your haste you're quick to point out you were never really wrong. <3/>

For reference, the song it had reminded me of was Dream Police.

I felt the same about it. It made me miss James' toy guns because at least the effect was intended on those live versions (and I already posted this indeed).
I like the live versions of Owata with Nicole's beautiful backing vocals though (I already posted that too but hey... I don't read all the threads so maybe neither do you)

That being said :popcorn:/> with the others (hi guys !), it's time for entertainment.

No you're not the only one. I love the synths, and everything else about the song.

The synths are way too "clean" sounding, presenting just another level of lead rather than any sort of ambience. The only time Owata was ever really even mediocre, though, was with trumpets. Shitty, shitty song.
