Here is the irony as I see it: many people were inconvenienced by Bandmerch, so the SPRC makes a gift for those inconvenienced (which I appreciate). But then with minimal notice, we have only one week to claim our gift (one e-mail, no last-minute friendly reminders in case some didn't get the message). What about those of us who were on vacation, or moving, or were otherwise too busy to thoroughly check their e-mails that week or were not on the forum 24/7? I check my e-mails as often as I can, but sometimes I fail to notice some. I do not have the gift I was promised (and Topspin says that I won't be getting it since "the SPRC has discontinued this offer"). That struck me funny. I like vinyl, so I would appreciate the gift. In fact, I am buying Oceania in vinyl only, so I can sit down and play it from beginning to end and enjoy the peaceful sounds of my record player.
Am I wrong in saying that this could have been organized better? Couldn't the SPRC or Topspin have gotten the stats of what orders were sent out after they were supposed to, and then simply made sure that there were enough flexidisks for all those inconvenienced, and set a longer period than one lousy week to claim their gift? And that would have avoided sending the gift to people who were not inconvenienced, such as the person above who claims they ordered theirs in 2012 and still got a gift.
Can any of the moderators contact Topspin and make sure that my gift gets sent (provided that they haven't been given away to those who were not promised them). I have placed an order anyways, in the hopes that something will come. I still have some faith in you guys.

Thanks for the reply. I sent an e-mail to Topspin because I wondering whether my complimentary gift was sent since I hadn't received it (obviously I was not in-the-know). I received a reply from Topspin. They included a copy of the original e-mail and said when it was sent. I was rather bummed out, then a couple of days later on May 26, I decided to place the order anyways since I have nothing to lose. I have the receipt in my e-mail, and the status says "pending". If Monte or anyone else can help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

This what I was told in my reply e-mail:
"It does not appear that you claimed your gift prior to the window closing. All flexidisk orders needed to be submitted by 4/30/12. The SPRC has discontinued this offer, and it is no longer possible to request the flexidisk. Apologies for any inconvenience, and thanks for your patience with this issue."

also, if this doesn't work out, you can always get in touch with monty, who promised to get everyone their copy, even if he had to give away his own copy.

I was DMing with SPRC on Twitter and I said I was also concerned about ordering from the site again because of the issues I'm having. They replied: "Oceania is handled with a different distribution model it should be ok but if u want to get it somewhere else we understand. SPRC"

I still reckon the vast majority of these flexis are sitting at Topspin HQ, gathering dust. I hope the poor bastards who genuinely pre-ordered manage to get their copies eventually. I still can't understand the extent of Topspin incompetence; surely all the order numbers are recorded on their systems? How can they just lose them?
