SP No Longer Working With Kerry

Without details its hard to make much of it. Could just be an agreed end, or it could be something more. Not following each other on twitter anymore is a werid one, which does point to the more likely conclusion that something ugly or immature happened to do such a public "we aint buddies anymore" display

Good luck to you Kerry.
Actually, I caught Billy rocking the fuck out to Fancy Space People in Providence. Jeff and I had a conversation about how FSP was Billy's choice for an opener, Last FM was Nicole's and Ringo DeathStarr was his. We laughed about if Mike picked an opener, the band wouldn't play in 4/4 time and it'd be headache-enducing.

Well, while I agree Corgan surrounding himself with yes men/women is a big problem, I can't imagine Kerry criticizing Corgan. I don't know the man, but he strikes me as being "smart" enough not to piss off the boss man. I mean, Starla 2011 mix.... pretty revelatory stuff. "yes sir, whatever you want, sir!".
Anyway, point being, Corgan would never fire someone for being too supportive. At least that's the impression I've got.

Well, I dunno. I'm not really trying to imply that's what happened, I just think, in my opinion, Kerry was a little too yes-man and it's probably better to get someone a little more analytical in there.

Agree. If it turns out it is ugly, immature or petty / pathetic - i'll be just about done with it all. Can't really handle watching a fucking train wreck over and over again. It;s not worth the trouble. I'll buy / download music - but having any sort of emotional connection to it anymore - nope. Will just be another band on my ipod.

really? After everything that has happened Kerry Brown is the final straw? I don't know how or why you let this stuff still bother you at this point.
I have a personal connection to the songs and a small interest in Corgan's thought process and opinions on things (music industry, etc). I really don't care if BC is an dick or not. I don't hang out with him. I'm not dating him. He is my favorite musician and his musical career is all that matters.

couldn't have said it any better myself.
for some odd reason sp fans think they have some sort of personal connection with billy, and if he's an asshole they're insulted and offended. nonsense.

I don't think it will interfere with the release of the remaining reissues, but it may affect the quality. I'm sure that's what you meant, but I don't know how much of a hand KB had in compiling them. Maybe you can shed light on that for me. I'd assume Billy was in charge of picking tracks and arranging them?

Yes, the quality is what I am concerned for. I wish I knew just how involved Kerry was with the project, in terms of locating the materials, organizing and cataloguing them. I only know he was responsible for transferring the raw tapes to digital, but beyond that I couldn't say. Hopefully Billy's Archive team knows what they're doing and can push on without Kerry's assistance to present the best possible tracks and quality for future reissues.

he will be back, this is the 3rd time hes said its the final straw with the pumpkins, he just is negitive about everything and overreacts about every small thing, billy could have sneezed and hed some how still find a reason to be pissed at it, at least when bimbly is negative he actually is negative for a good reason and has backing proof, juke just gets pissed like a 12 year old not getting a video game he wanted

Really? Want to tell me the other two, or did you just pull that out your arse?
I will continue to be a fan of the music, but being any more than that is really not that enjoyable anymore. It's meant to be JUST about the music, but with this band and this website - it rarely is. Spending my time hanging around you lot and watching Billy make relationships then break relationships publicly over and over and over and over and over again - as Johnny Rotten said "No Fun". Reissues were great, but soured by poor management. TBK was an epic project that he has pretty much abandon since he went with the "album within an album" concept. Oceania sounded promising - but now its turning up months late - with no genuine ETA, and no confirmation of what, if and how. Why "buy in" to something, then when he can't be fucked - be left in the dark - ALL THE TIME.
Watching a band (partially )reform, then completely de-form, then positively re-form again - just for the one constant relationship during that whole process to break ties just as it appears all his work has been done and its time to enjoy the fruits of that labour - DRAINING . It sounds like TBK,SPRC and the re-issues KB had a lot to do with ( and was much more willing to keep us informed than Billy ever has been willing to be ) - and now that this work is done, and Billy (at least) is expecting Oceania to be "bigger than KB can handle" he is not needed and they have to be so petty to "de-friend" each other on twitter?? Seriously, why bother??? Between the petty bitch fighting with Courtney and every other public ugly spat - he is too old to be acting like such a fucking social network child.
Even if KB and BC were not professionally going to be working together anymore - why would you bother to de-friend each other on a public social network? It was of boths professional benefits to still be connected to each other i would have though. at least my reputation.
This was meant to be a one of the most positive periods in the bands reformation and to be quite honest - it's turning back into a fucking shambles for those who watch the whole thing TOO closely.
Wouldn't be an issue if you didn't "buy in" to being "more than just a casual fan" - which is what Billy pretty much always ask for - loyal fans who just don't use his music as a disposal mp3 source, and support him no matter what. But he makes the ride so fucking unenjoyable, why would you put in any more effort or energy than required. It;s like having a malicious bi-polar girlfriend who one second comes home crying she loves you, then the next day burns your clothes in the lounge room, then the day after acts like nothing happened.
If the band releases music, i'll listen to it. If the band tours, i'll go. But if this is how it looks to be, let him self destruct on his own.
Once again, all this could have been avoided if Billy used proper communication to give people a "heads up"that this or that has happened. But communication is not his strong point, and because of this - as much as he wished to be "independent", even at 40+ years of age - he is no way near mature enough to do it properly.

As for Kerry's impact on the band, at best he really had none and at worst he was responsible for what I feel are some poor production choices and some remixes of songs that are seen as almost disrespectful.

Yet, drama are not necessary to make great songs. I do feel we'll see it in the next album.
no wasn't talking about music yet to be made, although chances are many new songs will probably be in the same vein as alot of other SP songs. it's all thru the eyes of WPC. you love you lose, and maybe you get the chance to meet and love again, like you never parted.
why waste time speculating about anything. just enjoy what ya got and if the time comes for changes some can rejoice and others can find a reason to complain.
