I've been looking for the Thirty-Three UK promo CD released in a green cardboard sleeve for a while now, and I wonder if there were as many copies pressed as the other promo singles because I could find the others quite easily but not this particular one.

I also wonder if there is a UK promo of Zero which would come in a cardboard sleeve.
The only one I know is the american one in a jewel box.

I'm also looking for this item.

At last, is there any cardboard sleeve of Bullet which has lyrics on the back cover?
Mine doesn't have any, so does the copy scanned on SPfreaks but I wondered if there had been any released.

i don't think the tirthy-three promo is any rarer than the other ones.

the thirty-three promo is different to the other mcis UK cardsleeve promos though: it contains the two bonus tracks from the second UK single (they had two different thirty-three singles, just like they had two different tonight, tonight singles, dividing the b-sides you can for example find on the tafh discs over the two singles). the extra tracks aren't listed. the other mcis promos only contain one track.

also, there is a non-cardsleeve promo for thirty-three. this one is a lot harder to find. from what i've heard, they first made this promo, but then didn't release it, and released the green cardsleeve one instead. http://www.spfreaks....ETAILS&item=159

there is no UK zero promo.
note that there isn't a UK promo for 1979 mixes or muzzle either, even though these promos did have a US release.

i don't think a different version for that bullet with butterfly wings promo exists. there is only one version, without lyrics.
the only mcis UK cardsleeve promo that comes in two different versions is the 1979 one. one version has the virgin logo on the front of the sleeve, the other version has the hut logo.

Gee ! Thanks for your quick and detailed answer.

As far as the green 33 promo single is concerned my guess is that I only have to give time to time and continue to check merchant sites frequently (this being said I've been looking for it for something like 6 months...).
So far I only have the twins UK singles for 33 (with stickers).
I didn't know about the promo item that preceeded the green one so thanks for this info.

For the other items well...I kind of expected the answer but I just wanted to be sure. :happy:/>

Thanks a lot again.

there's also a spanish promo for thirty-three. pretty cool item, in my opinion: http://www.spfreaks....ETAILS&item=226

good luck with your search for the green promo. should pop up on ebay one day.

Cool. I have never actually seen any of the Mellon Collie single promos before, aside from a pic of the Muzzle one. I have a few promos, but not any MCIS ones (Rocket, I of the Mourning, SIYL).

if you've got any other release-related questions, don't hesitate to ask them. my head is almost exploding because it's so full of useless little factoids about smashing pumpkins releases. it would be nice if i could let some more out.

here are some pictures from the UK promos for the MCIS singles.

here are all four. the complete series:
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/mcis_uk_promos.jpg

here are the bullet with butterfly wings one, and the tonight, tonight one:
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/bwbw_tt_front.jpg
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/bwbw_tt_back.jpg
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/bwbw_tt_cds.jpg

here are the two different 1979 promos. one has a Virgin logo on the front, the other one has a Hut logo. Also, on the cds, the Virgin logo is different on the two different versions:
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/1979s_front.jpg
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/1979s_back.jpg
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/1979s_cds.jpg

here's the 33 promo in the green sleeve, and the deleted promo in the slim case:
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/33s_front.jpg
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/33s_back.jpg
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_eu_promos/33s_cds.jpg

and to end, a picture of that spanish promo i mentioned. it comes in a slim case, without any inserts:

and while we're at it, why not show some US promos for the MCIS singles? exactly!

these are the four promos that don't come with a front insert:
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_us_promos/front1.jpg

these are the three promos that do come with a front insert.
not that the 1979 mixes promo is called "1979 mix", as it only contains one remix. the single is called "1979 mixes".
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_us_promos/front2.jpg

this is what their back inserts look like:
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_us_promos/back1.jpg
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_us_promos/back2.jpg

and this is what the cds of the last three promos look like:
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_us_promos/cd1.jpg
http://s1050.photobucket.com/albums/s404/absolutelygroundbreaking/mcis_us_promos/cd2.jpg

notice how the inside of that 1979 mix front insert is completely white? i can already tell you that all three front inserts are a single page. to be continued in that other thread with that question about front inserts.

i have to do some washing up first though. not sure if this will be continued today or on another day. we'll see...

I just love the UK promo in cardboard sleeves.
Very beautiful objects to look at and to feel.
I'm really sad I'm missing the 33 one.
Hopefully I'm a very patient woman and "Tout vient à point à qui sait attendre" (All things come to him who waits).

I wonder why the Muzzle promo is so different from the other ones. Does that prove that they had no intention to release the single since the beginning? :scatch:/>

Just read this, most of my collection is sold but i still have a fair chunk of it left. Suprisingly i still have the 33 with lyrics on the back and a couple of others. The only thing is, it's got a promo sticker on the front and a couple on the back, i bought it second hand and the disc isn't in the best condition and the cover is a little battered. But it's yours if you want it, if not to complete the collection then something to keep in place until you can find a better copy.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a good-quality copy of this in a second-hand CD store; I'll most likely be able to check if it's still there this weekend.

Sounds good, if you want it then all i'd want is the cost of P&P covered. I'll be heading to work in a couple of hours so we can talk about it later tonight.
