I'm sure this was posted semi-recently, but I'd like to discuss it anyhow (I remember "who should SR cover?" happened very recently).

I'd like Richard Cheese to cover SP. He covers a variety of songs in "lounge music" style (kinda like Sinatra). I think him covering "...Said Sadly" and "Wound" would be great.

Any others you'd like to see?

:cheers:/> Hell, I'd be happy with them doing just about any Pumpkins cover. And they'd do a great job regardless of what.

This might be a bit obscure, but I actually think Noel Gallagher would sound great singing "With Every Light" from Machina.

I know this a who *should* cover SP, but I'm just throwing it out there that the Civil Wars cover of Disarm is excellent.
I would also love to hear Silversun Pickups cover Love. And I think they could cover To Forgive well, or Crying Tree.
Muse-Stand Inside Your Love
Depeche Mode-Obscured
Jem-To Sheila
Pink Floyd-Soma (instead of errupting into overdubs, can't you hear Gilmour crushing a solo for the last half of the song?)
U2-Mayonaise
Keane-Once Upon a Time

U2-Mayonaise

I don't know why, but I can imagine they singing something like In The Arms of Sleep, a cover in the mood of Dancing Barefoot. And I only think about The Cure when I'm listening to Pennies. So:

U2 - In The Arms of Sleep
The Cure - Pennies
SSPU - I of The Mourning
Elbow - Neverlost
Swell Season - Galapogos / To Sheila

I can definitely hear the Cure in Pennies. It even has Cure-esque lyrics! And the syyyyynths...mmm. A Night Like This (from the Head On The Door, no SP) comes to mind as a model of what that might sound like.

I am down for the PF cover of Soma and gilmour letting it rip for the last half of the song with his solo goodness...
Incubus doing a cover would be sweet. Maybe a song like Set The Ray To Jerry or 1979.
Muse doing SIYL is perfect.
U2 doing mayonaise is an excellent choice! Although I can hear U2 doing Perfect or 1979 or This Time very well.
Deftones should do Daphne Descends or Pug or Appels + Oranjes. Or tales of a scorched earth!
Radiohead doing Ruby.
THough it's an obvious choice, i'd like to hear manson do TEG.

Andrew Jackson Jihad - Ugly (double bass strings would suit nicely) or Disarm (angry whiney vocals would amuse me)

I'd like to see Chris Cornell tackle any of the powerful tracks from MCIS, such as Muzzle, Jellybelly or Bodies, that would be interesting.
I think the reworking of tracks would be a little redundant as most of their output is in near perfect state already, I'm much more intrigued by what the vocalists would bring to it. Tori Amos doing Eyes Of Ruby, Jewel covering This Time and Thom Yorke's version of Soma would be amazing.

they'd suck all the real emotion out of it. it'd just be power and bluster.

That would blow my mind. She would be perfect for that song. Actually, there are multiple Pumpkins songs I'd like to see her cover but Ruby would be great.

When I saw her in December, she actually did a cover of Landslide.
