As "next week" has effectively become last week, I'm forced to again ask if anything regarding the "Oceania experience" has been announced yet?

^^ I thought we were still waiting for more details from SXSW. Was that it? I didn't read many of the 'spoilers,' anticipating a lengthy write up. What do we actually know... or in other words, what did they talk about?

nothing has been put out there beyond that little read up from that recent article about the Source Family and his little slip up of working with Sean Evans and the 4 minute video of his talk with Brian Solis.

The only news that's broke so far that I know of is that Oceania is slated for a June release. But that didn't come from SXSW, that came from Billy's twitter.

There is supposed to be a full length video of the session with Brian Solis soon (maybe another week or so), but honestly if Billy had given a bunch of details about Oceania in that talk people would have been tweeting about it. There were SP fans in that room and a ton of people who tweet for a living to boot and were tweeting almost everything Billy said.

I don't think areans, but I am thinking bigger venues. Please play the Garden, please play the Garden...
I don't think the "experience" will be anything too wild. A stream with visuals and stuff before it gets released, something along those lines.

So basically there's going to be nothing from SXSW to announce then, am I correct?

This seems like another one of those famous "Announcements for an announcement about an announcement" situations. :rolleyes:/>

At least in the past, announcements for announcements eventually yielded solid info.

"Sometime in June", and nothing on the "album experience" were what we got here.

And we still know nothing on when Pisces is coming out.

I am speculating that the albums experience might be a living experience. That things will constantly be changing and we won't get everything at once.

I'm trying hard to be positive here, but unless I missed something, this either did not happen, or if it did, we have not been able to hear about it yet. 600 posts of speculation culminating in still being right back where we started.

the expensive set design is only there to cover bill's back. when people complain about the songs, or if not enough people show up, billy can go all "do you know how much it costs to tour?" and get into his much preferred victim role again. next step is passive agressive remarks towards the people who did pay for a ticket and actually showed up at the show. add some thirty minute versions of songs nobody wants to hear (very proggy), and we're there. those are the basic ingredients for a big pumpkins tour. it will be a huge success again.

The only thing that seems to be looking "official" about Oceania is that quickly becoming a debacle. No release date - a vague "3 month" time frame - a "work in progress" release strucutre. Do we have confirmation of which record company actually signed it?

I'm frankly at the "don;t give a fuck" stage of proceedings. which is very sad for this band as i was one of the few people who actually was very interested in what this album could be. You have to wonder what Mike, Nicole & Jeff must be thinking right now. its all quite embarrassing

I don;t either. I don't thkn, Billy has much a clue to be honest. Just "ideas". Thats all he has had in general since the band broke up - a whole bunch of idea's never fulfilled

you are actually 100% right with that, but only that i am so let down & disappointed with this entire process & its creator that i feel the need to express it right in the heart of what should have been the band & albums victory ground. I come here much like a friend turning up to an old friends funeral, constantly thinking of what "could have been " and "what a waste", and reflecting on something i feel is a great loss of opportunity. No matter how great this album may turn out to be, i firmly believe the moment has now passed for it to matter and succeed, much like the moment passed for Brian Wilson & the Beach Boys when instead of focusing on finishing & perfecting the "lost" Smile album in 67 - they internally fought, self doubted the work and became more worried about how the world would perceive them. In the meantime they missed release after release until the Beatles released Sgt Pepper & realized they had dropped the ball & the moment was gone

I never "ranted" or even visited Netphoria - so i have no idea what this means
