Considering offers for my copy of Mellon Collie. It's numbered in the 3000's so it's definitely not a boot. I am it's second owner, but have listened to it a handful of times. I've kept in in a thick plastic outer sleeve, and i replaced the paper inner sleeves with high-quality poly-lined rice paper sleeves.

just the paper sleeves that the actual records were in. i replaced them with poly-lined sleeves that don't scuff the records like regular paper sleeves.

i'm not easily offended. if you offer me $1, i won't be offended, i just won't take it seriously. right now, the high bid is $150. if that's the high bid in a few days, i may let it go for that. we'll see.

i paid $25.99 for mine in 1996 at a record store, but that doesn't inform how much i would charge for it now.

i believe the bootlegs had records that came in regular paper sleeves.

Are there any MCIS boots that are numbered? It's possible that a previous owner put the discs in sleeves...

no, the bootlegs aren't numbered.

it is indeed possible that the previous owner changed the sleeves to normal paper sleeves. it seems very unlikely, but it's not impossible.
but it's also possible that someone put the bootleg vinyls in a numbered sleeve. i can think of good reasons why someone would have done this.
everything is possible. it's also possible that no inner sleeves were ever changed at all, and that these sleeves are simply the original ones.

did you really change the sleeves? or did you assume the previous owner did, but then decide to change that story a little bit?
if you really changed the sleeves yourself, have you checked if the records are real? because normal paper sleeves on the mcis 3lp are a big fat red flag, bootleg-wise.

or, also possible, did you see the sleeves just now, when you were considering to sell this, and simply assumed you had changed them, even though you can't really remember you did?

maybe you're right. it's been so long. i thought i had changed the sleeves, but i maybe i was thinking about a different record. i change the sleeves on most of my records because paper sleeves scuff them up. it's definitely not a bootleg though.

i'm pretty sure my one had paper sleeves when i got it; second hand mind you. i don't really think it's hard to fathom someone buying a few paper sleeves to keep their vinyl nice and clean.

i just checked. they came with yellowish polysleeves. i had recently bought a box and replaced them with brand new ones. not really a big deal. not saying it should add to the sale or anything. but i'm glad we cleared that up. :cheers:/>

call me weird, but i would actually feel gypped by not having the original sleeves, whatever they were. with a piece this singular and collectible, i would rather have it however it was officially released.

at the moment, i decided not to sell. but for the record, i still have the original sleeves, but i wanted to keep the records as preserved and nice as possible. but no, it's totally not weird at all.
