Seriously, I nearly fell off my chair - even though he did post about billy's fainting a couple years back and some other shit i can't remember...

But perez hilton has posted about Oceania's released and even went as far as to make it SEEM like he (or as he likes to say "we") can't wait for the album. http://perezhilton.c...lease-new-album

I only bring this up here cuz I want to get a DISCUSSION going on this... since EMI is releasing it are they paying sites like perez to talk about the album? Is this a sign of a good promotion or bad? WOULD this help reach more people (and maybe soon to be SP fans)? GRANTED he just ripped it off from pitchfork who got the date wrong? But Perez had to have been paid to post this cuz lol seriously why would he care?

This.

I don't care what they do. Anything to get the word out about the album is a good thing

After a five year hiatus the Smashing Pumpkins have announced that they have a new album in the works and we could not be more excited!

LOL, "five-year hiatus". Why does it seem like everybody who's heard of Teargarden by Kaleidyscope is on this board?

Because everyone who's heard Teargarden was so blown away by it's awesomeness they immediatly became part of the hardcore, and had thier usernames and profiles tatooed on thier arms (or was that just me?).
Though I actually know a bro who's pretty big into Teargarden who is not on O-Board Mark II. He says Freak is cool. Don't think he's aware of Zietgiest.

Didn't Perez freak out on him for the whole Devi Ever thing? Goes to show how much character that guy has, if my memory serves me correctly.

how does someone get pretty big into Teargarden, at this point? I'm just wondering because the official releases are only like...10 songs(including teargarden theme and cottonwood symphony)? And they don't necessarily all flow together the best. Nor are they necessarily SP's best studio work, imo...

..Unless you maybe consider all of the Spirits in the Sky and Backwards Clock Society stuff, as well. Some great songs there.

I dunno. I love the Teargarden concept. I think it's a great project with great potential. But I haven't been able to get TOO absorbed in the past 10 songs. I feel like some of the best stuff hasn't been recorded, or was morphed in the studio to a point where it lost a lot of its original magic (Tom Tom, etc...)

Yes. He talked some major shit about Billy then and he had that story completely wrong. Just factually it was so incorrect. Now he's singin a different tune. blah whatever. I don't go to his site anymore. If you absolutely have to get your fix for celeb news you could check TMZ every now and then.

The site is written by a bunch of people now. It's not like the Perez Hilton guy is writing everything.

It's still a small operation from what I understand. Like him, his sister and his mother or something. He knows what gets posted.

He's a SP fan...he just copied and pasted some information from a press release. Don't take this too seriously.

He's also a fan of the most horribly bad music out there today.
(in my opinion)
That's one of the reasons I quit reading his site is when he started promoting his record label and shitty pop "artists" and acts.

Anything Perez Hilton plugs is paid for. His web site is a multi million dollar advertising business and nothing more.

What's funny is that this is just how mainstream music is marketed today. Online blogs that are secretly funded by label/indies & quarterbacks/etc is the equivalent of the MTV Machine 15 years ago. And realistically, how did you all even get into this band in the first place? I saw Today and Disarm on MTV back then; maybe some kid this year will discover My Love is Winter on a blog. It's the same old story, just a little modernized.

Perez? Bill will thrilled, I'm sure. Now if only he could crack TMZ. No surprise though - Perez and Jessica friends.

True, but but motives can be surprisingly personal at the same time.

He did. Although Jessica and Billy were in an 'off' period then, which might help explain the change of heart. :rolleyes:/> It's all so transparent.
