He would still be there, legendary musician that he is, hey, he could even do back up 'oohs' and 'aahs' if he felt left out.

I know...

I'd like to see him bring in guest vocalists for some songs though, I think it would be great, especially the live stuff.
Can you imagine Chris Cornell doing Muzzle?

If I'm paying money to see SP I expect to see mainly SP. guest vocals are fine for one song as long as the song is not ruined, but my money is on SP not a replacement singer.

:lol:/> Such pithy attitudes over hypotheticals....

Chris Cornell would be great. Dave Gahan would be fantastic as well. I'd also highly support Shirley Manson, Robert Smith, and Michael Stipe.

I'd be more excited to see a situation like this than a traditional Pumpkins show. You've all seen Billy sing his songs before- for 20 years. Why would it not be an interesting and exciting change of pace to see someone else come in for a tour? Sore throat or not, I'd fully support this. It's not like they'd be a permanent vocalist.

I've only gotten to see Billy sing his songs once, and I had terrible seats :(/>
That said...Dave Gahnan. FTW.

I dont think anybody would sound as good as BC singing SP songs, but if I had to choose it would probably be Thom York

If they had to do something like this (which would be sort of a cool experiment in my opinion), I'd rather see them go with someone who doesn't sound like Billy. Jack White with the Pumpkins would be an amazing clash of personalities and probably awesome.

PJ Harvey is a legitimately good singer/songwriter. I wouldn't mind her doing some SP covers.

I couldn't disagree more (in regards to Garbage). Their self-titled and Version 2.0 were and are still amazing rock records. Hell, even Bleed Like Me had some great tunes on it. I can't speak for YYYs because I've never listened to them, but I've always thought and felt very highly of Garbage. A shame you don't feel that way.

*Perry Farrell*. Not to replace him though.No,no.Just to assist him is all.Billy's voice makes the Pumpkins.*I* made a comment about his voice on another thread a while back during his tour only because I was really surprised at not only how he sounded but he didn't seem to be up the singing.Which is probably because he did have something going on with his voice at that time.I didn't know he had a sore throat,it sound more to me like stress affected his voice.Singers usually rest their vocal cords and in times stress a sore throat can occur. I guess the show must go on anyway.Sorry Billy. I was very impolite about that. :flowers:/>

if Billy had a sore throat for the entire tour I would prefer he either suck it up and sing soft or cancel

how selfish eh?

Anyway *Perry Farrel* is the only guy I can think of that could actually pull it off .that is for the Oceania vocals.I think they both just have been greatly complemented. :sp:/>

it's all style and no substance to me. i feel nothing when i listen, i hate her voice...the whole band is about her look, her obnoxious attitude, and just that general mid-to-late 90s feel that to me, shit on all the REALNESS of the great music of the early 90s.

I loved the stuff Perry Farrell did with his side project Porno For Pyros. Have you ever the track called 'Pets'? Just amazing.

Attn patrons of this board... do not feed the snail with your responses; just pause read briefly and move on to the next post. However, avoidance of his posts at all costs is recommended. Feeding the snail with your response will result in inappropriate, sexist, biased and all round negative rebuttals that will cause undesirable effects and experiences to readers around you. Please be guided accordingly. kthxbye.

As for the topic at hand. I nominate William Duval and Jerry Cantrel to bring the haunting dual harmonies gloom to the songs! that will be le awesome. I also would love to hear Karen O because when she sings live it's just like billy in the 90s i.e. banshee screeching vocals just from a female instead so she would work perfectly.

for shits and giggles i'd also consider Celine Dion, Taylor Swift, Michael Buble, Kenny G and Michael Bolton. For the ultimate LOL yet oddly appropriate: Axl Rose.
