I'd like to have another compilation or two (or three or four) of all the leftover tracks that weren't included in the reissues.

Not Worth Asking, My Eternity, Daughter, Under Your Spell, Snap, Tulips (the version that was released on QaOS), the Siamese era Set the Ray to Jerry, etc etc etc.

I think there should just be a vinyl "pre-gish" compilation.

and then maybe a 1990-94 compilation that gathers some of the 'best of' the bonus discs (mainly stuff that hasn't appeared in some form on another major release), along with whatever scraps havent seen the light of day....

From TRIPPIN THRU THE STARS:
Honeyspider, Jesus is the Sun, Smiley, Drown

From LOLLIPOP FUN TIME:
Siamese Dream, Moleasskiss, Never Let Me Down Again, Apathy's Last Kiss

From PISCES ISCARIOT DISC 2:
Glynis, Purr Snickety, French Movie Theme

etc etc.... would be cool to make special unique vinyl-only compilations that offer vinyl copies of some of this stuff, as well as introduce totally new material.

Isn't it obvious by now; no matter how many times us fans, whom they purport to represent, ask what they are actually doing/have done on our behalf - they simply aren't going to tell us.

If we had something like a compilation with those songs on, I think many people would be interested and it's not too ambitious (on paper) to pull off as a first project.

Oh by the way, do you know if there is any plans to release a demo/studio version of Towers of Rabble on the Mellon Collie or TAFH reissue? I know some long-time SP fans that would be very interested in hearing that remastered.

I think Billy mentioned something about it on Twitter and how he was planning to use it for MCIS. I think. My memory is kinda shitty when it comes to stuff he tweets.

I like the idea of this, its most of the stuff that I wanted on the Gish/Pisces reissue that didn't make the cut

Also, wasn't there supposed to be an SPRC release in June or July according to the official site when it got updated? Or was that the bonus stuff that came with Pisces when you ordered from the bands online store.

how does one ensure they'll receive future SPRC releases, anyway? i signed up for the first track, "Drown," and also received the "Rhinoceros (Version 2)" demo, but somehow missed out on "Barb Wire" and the "Geek USA" demo (can't recall the alternate title at the moment). aren't we supposed to be notified when new releases come out or do we need to keep checking back?

p.s. if anyone has mp3s of "Barb Wire" or anything else that i may be missing that i'm not even aware of, please let me know...

The 2 tracks you mention were sent out as official SPRC tracks to the fan mailing list. The other two, Barb Wire and Geek USA, were hidden amongst the website, and not mailed out. The best way to stay tuned to such things is to keep an eye on Crestfallen.com, Hipsters United, this place, the band's facebook *& twitter, etc.

In other words, you received every notification that was sent out as intended. The rest of the stuff is just bonus stuff for those who frequent the community, or, as you did, stumble upon it and discover these hidden gems. :cheers:/>

2 months now and nothing!!

it started out well, but this is petering out. at this point i'm no longer interested.

mcis reissue with 70 songs, new double album in the works, and a live oceania show are what's on my mind.

One song? We aren't just waiting on one song. Where have you been? We are waiting on a lot of stuff.
We haven't even had human contact from these 13 people in 2 months. It's very unprofessional. We were told that they would stay in contact with us about what was going on. We were told that we would get more content in late June if I'm not mistaken, or early July.

And this is the problem with the internet, people like you. If you were standing in front of me I know you wouldn't talk to me like that. If you did I would be rearranging your face right about now. So tuck your testicles back in between your legs where they belong and quit trying to be a "badass" online b/c people in real life don't give you any respect.

I mean, SP is an independent band with limited resources.

billy has had to oversee the finding of all this material, sort through it all, oversee remixes and remasters of dozens of songs, oversee the artwork/packaging and actual production. On five reissues (i'm counting the in-progress MCIS and TAFH).

Meanwhile, the band was finishing up, releasing, and promoting Oceania to the press.

AND booking tours, rehearsing the music from the ground up, and designing an elaborate stage show.

AND working on enough new material to be considering a double album next.

And you're seriously bitching about not getting 'more' through the Lucky 13?

No wonder Billy has given up on the fans, there's really no pleasing people. This is the most exciting and active time to be a fan since 2000 at least.

It's not that we're spoiled. The point is, why even announce things like the Lucky 13 and then let it stall out before it even does anything? It's not like the band didn't know they would be planning and embarking on a major tour. I'm with you on this United States.

since we're all gonna bitch about stuff in this thread....

wasn't it announced that lucky 13 would get their own web presence? I guess it doesn't matter since they haven't made any sort of posting or anything, not even on crestfallen (but seriously, that's weird as shit, get an official site!)

I believe it was established that the Double Doors was seeing a TAFH-reissue release thanks to these folks. Even if thats the only thing to come out of this phase of dialogue, thats enough for me to cheers to. Oy! :cheers:/>

Yeah, I guess I am. It's because I want good things to come from this band. It's hard to have things get announced and then constantly fizzle or get fucked (PI reissue). And Simon, the Double Door shows have been a fan-want since the shows happened. I hardly think Lucky 13 was the driving force behind making that happen. This was even one of the questions at the Philly meet up.

I don't think some people are comprehending what exactly I'm griping about. If you had read what I wrote, which you clearly didn't, you would have realized I'm griping about the lack of communication. As a matter of fact I'm very satisfied with all the music we have been getting lately, it's freakin' awesome. Lucky 13 said they would keep us updated and have failed to do so, that is the problem here....Not getting more music. I'll be happy to wait a year as long as they tell us that. But this telling us a date and then ignoring all the fans crap isn't going to fly. Even if every friday they said, "We still haven't heard anything and don't know anything." I would be satisfied with that.
Is there anything wrong with that...NO!!!
That's a realistic expectation that isn't hard to accomplish. It takes 5 seconds to write that on this board. Not hard.

Yes, pre-Pumpkins material is available for request and release.

then by all means do it! release it all. especially 87-88 stuff that we haven't heard yet.

don't feel like reading all of this thread but in case no one else mentioned the 'identify' demo,

the 'identify' demo

i'm happy w/ the m2 version of lmgtwty
if a SBD of 'girl with the cruel face' from 12/14/01 exists, plz release. i really think this is one of bc's best songs.
if there are better quality versions of some mcis leftovers...the ones everyone's mentioned already, METHUSELA, towers, speed, autumn nocturne, wishing you were real, etc..and whatever else there is from that.

arising dvd sounds real good to me, since i was there. woohoo.

unreasonable request, do a tour with The Church :p/>

Get over it. Seriously....stop...and get over it. Be thankful for the things that you do have, rather than have just about everything and then bitch about the one thing that you don't. You look like an ungrateful little child. I know that thinking is "the reason why the internet is the way it is."

Best list of songs for a cd for all of us who want it all, good, the bad and the ugly! Would love for this to come out or how about all the early stuff 88-90 studio and demo be released. Would love psychedelic, theres gotta be studio demos of stuff they only played live, pretty sure Billy records almost everything. I'm waiting to see if Billy give us a whole different Adore, hell we all have the originals might as well give us remixed.

I want it all did I already say that? Let me give the world to you - I'll take every version he's got. I would like to hear some of the full band arrangements of Jupiter Lament, also is there a full long version of the small song fill after Ruby. That was simply beautiful. Does anyone know is there a demo of Zoom or space Jam, thought I saw it once back in the napster days downloaded it and it was great but lost it after the CPU crashed.

Sad Peter Pan also seems to have been completely forgotten, no idea why it wasn't included on any of the bonus discs.

I completely forgot about that too. Maybe lisencing costs or some legal shit? But then again, that didn't stop Billy with all the PI dvd covers.

you know what i would like to have? the new tour versions from classic songs we already know in studio-quality. billy always give "old" songs a new spirit by changing the sound/ amp/ solis ect. some of the adore versions during zeitgeist tour were OUTSTANDING.
would like to have a kind of "makeover" of classic sp songs in a new version.

with as many people mad about the whole different Plume thing I doubt Billy would do something like this, but that is a great idea, stumbline from Adore was great also the whole summer of 97 had some of the greatest live versions of the Mellon Collie tunes.

Wasn't that more MCIS era? It's still possible it'll show up as a bonus track for that reissue.

It was on the Sweet Relief 2 compilation released August '96. No idea when it was recorded, but I'd associate it with MCIS era. That was a sweet-ass album.

Edit: Recorded Fall '95 with the other songs released on the Zero EP. If memory serves me, Jeff Moleski recorded it.

Yep it was from the MCIS era. Not only did it feature two bands, but it was not even written by the band. It was written by Vic Chesnutt, who put together the compilation from my understanding. Garbage and other bands also appeared. Though I guess it would be the same as putting Landslide or Never Let Me Down Again on a release. So I guess it might be fair game for the MCIS reissue.

Yep it was from the MCIS era. Not only did it feature two bands, but it was not even written by the band. It was written by Vic Chesnutt, who put together the compilation from my understanding. Garbage and other bands also appeared.

That's one of my favorite Garbage songs, even though it's just a cover.

you know what i would like to have? the new tour versions from classic songs we already know in studio-quality. billy always give "old" songs a new spirit by changing the sound/ amp/ solis ect. some of the adore versions during zeitgeist tour were OUTSTANDING.
would like to have a kind of "makeover" of classic sp songs in a new version.

I would like this as well. o love how they do live alt versions on diff tours. it would be cool to take soundboard rips and make a compilation of some of these songs as if they were recorded on studio (kind of like how they did with rock on on Judas 0).

I see, for some reason I thought it came out sometime between PI and MCIS. Thanks for clarifying.

Here's some info on the Sweet Relief II comp:

Yeah it's fantastic. The only songs I still listen to from that compilation are "Sad Peter Pan", "Kick My Ass" by Garbage, and "Supernatural" by Live (I don't really like Live but that one is decent.

Maybe you were thinking of No Alternative featuring "Glynis"? Although I think that was released between Siamese Dream and Pisces.

I still dream that they're doing shit loads behind the scenes and that this thing will turn out to be amazing and they'll feel oh so special when they exclaim; 'in your face Drevpile; here it is; it's even better than your dreams' - and it is. They can circle jerk all they like about the double door, but it doesn't really hide the fact that essentially this thing so far is just a rather lame joke... What has it achieved since it's inception that's tangible to fellow fans? If you answered 'nothing'; you win the prize. Billy said stuff would be rolling out as a result of this at 6 months... that isn't going to happen is it?

In 2001, The Cure put out a greatest hits compilation that consisted of two discs. Disc 1 was the greatest hits compilation per se, and disc 2 consisted of new acoustic recordings of the same songs. Something like that would be cool. Maybe if they do a reissue of Rotten Apples?
