deep.
[Nicole] brings her experience as a woman to the table, just like Mike does from when he was working at McDonald’s, and we draw from that.

That was an excellent interview and article.
lol that was a bit of an odd statement for sure. I am sure there is sarcasm in that deep :p/>. But the comparison/contrast between the two doesn't quite work, unless he's talking about Mike's experience as a young guy and former 'common folk workin' man' sort of thing lol.

“The day before Oceania came out every conversation was about something to do with the past,” he says of the album press tour. But now, “because Oceania is generally being received as a credible work, it’s shifted the conversation into the present.
Ummm yeah thats kinda how it works Billy. All your best and to be perfectly honest 'worthwhile' work was in the past in most fans eyes including mine. TBK has been very poorly received and its due to the quality of the work. Naturally people are going to compare it to the work of the pumpkins in the past and if the new stuff doesnt cut the mustard then its going to be noted.
Fortunately Oceania is a MUCH stronger offering in terms of quality and is being deemed as much more worthwhile to those who are listening to it. Therefore instead of saying "It sucks, the pumpkins were better in the nineties", theres alot more of "well its not siamese dream or MCIS but its pretty damn good" right through to those who think this is their best ever work. Im in the former. Oceania holds some great songs (Violet Rays, The Celestials, Panopticon) along with some good to OK songs but theres nothing here other than maybe the song oceania itself and Wildflower that I would skip.
