According to Google Trends the top ten countries where people searched for Smashing Pumpkins content in the last 12 months are:
1. Portugal
2. New Zealand
3. Chile
4. Australia
5. United States
6. Ireland
7. Canada
8. Mexico
9. Italy
10. Philippines
On the other hand, the top 10 cities where these searches originated are:
1. Lisbon, Portual
2. Chicago, IL
3. Los Angeles, CA
4. Santiago, Chile
5. San Francisco, CA
6. Brisbane, Australia
7. Mexico City
8. Sydney, Australia
9. Melbourne, Australia
10. Atlanta, GA
As for the language employed in these searches, English is the #1 language of users, followed closely by Italian, Spanish, Finnish and Portuguese.
While this shows the diversity of Smashing Pumpkins fans scattered across all continents, I was wondering why Portugal has recently become the centre of so much SP google traffic in the last 12 months?
Album names
I searched the google trends for Smashing Pumpkins individual albums. While Oceania is a very broad term with geographical implications, the album did have an impact on the google traffic of June 28.
Gish is a popular search in Belarus. This probably has more to do with a term in the Belarusian language, I believe it has little to do with the Pumpkins album, but the announcement of the Gish and Siamese Dream reissues did become a search highlight in late-April 2011.
Mellon Collie is a top search in Portugal as well as in Milan, Italy and the main language employed in these searches is Italian.
Billy Corgan
Finally, the Billy Corgan search showed no surprises as the majority of the searches originated in Chicago and were typed in English.

i believe Portugal gave the pumpkins the only #1 on itunes, and for an album without any single, on this day and age, its something.
