The Smashing Pumpkins will be in the US in October according to a tweet made by BC himself.

No news on when they will release venue/dates yet. But it is October.

Unfortunately they have not provided enough time to make arrangements this late. Damn. What we're going to see here are new shows that will be added one week before the day of the show. Are they expectig only local people attending these shows? Doesnt Billy understand they're mostly fans flying in from thousands of miles away haha

You don't think they will play close to where you reside?

From where I am, I'm willing to go to Memphis, Tulsa, Little Rock, Dallas, KC, or St Louis with relatively short notice. Crossing my fingers for one of those cities. Tulsa would be preferable

Tulsa is where I live, so I tend to agree with Tulsa. I would drive to Dallas to see them a 2nd time too.

seems like they're happy to play chicago again, so that's good. not complaining cause i've also been able to see them in Grand Rapids MI, Milwaukee, and Hammond IN in recent years. Really happy they're touring this regularly.

I notoiced the 2nd show for the Oceania tour they didn't play the album all the way through. I wonder why that is. I was under the impression they were doing that at all the shows. I hope they continue to do so in the states. I kinda like the idea of it.

The 2nd show was a festival show. They just played the 3rd show of the tour and went back to playing the album all the way through.

I'm sure they'll do one. SP to not tour Europe would be blasphemous.

if they are just touring us/can in october, then I am thinking maybe 15 cities, 0ct 2011 then did a 13 city tour with no canada.
predicts anyone. i am thinking east coast mainly since there are already inclinations of a NY show in oct.
the show venue will be bigger as well to accomidate the stage show, not saying stadiums, but larger than 1500-3000 seat like oct-11. maybe 5K???

I say they start in 1 - LA again, 2 -WA, 3-CO, 4-TX, 5-KY/TN, 6-NC, 7-VA/DC, 8-PA, 9-NY, 10-MA, 11-OH, 12-IL, 13-Toronto, 14-Montreal and maybe 15-Ottwa then a 1-2 week break and touring europe starts.

oh and I also think that tix will be onsale for presale 8/23 and to the public on 8-24.

NY show? Source? I would be all over that shit. Given, we've gotten a show the past three tours, but still. Billy seems to have taken a liking to New York the past few years, even given the 2008 United Palace Theater debacle...

i think I am going mad. I could have sworn I saw something about a possible nyc thing for us tour.

Alas, I have no source at this time.

Maybe my mind just lost it and I associated the Iheartradio.com show with this nugget. sorry to excite, still hoping for an east coast showing though...

Is anyone else surprised a NYC show would be in that big a venue? The new Nets arena will probably hold 14,000. Even if the stage gets rid of 1/3 of the arena, with floor room, the concert would easily fit 8-10k. Is there any chance the pumpkins could actually sell even close to that? I'd love it if they could, but that would surprise me.

The Arena holds 18,103 for basketball and 19,000 for concerts according to wiki.

http://en.wikipedia....Barclays_Center

After the near capacity turnout at the Arena in the Philippines even with the floodings, there is no doubt in my mind that this will be sold out or very close to sold out in NYC.

I was at the United Palace Theare show in 2008 and that venue seats 3,000 people, and I can tell you that wasn't sold out. I know karma around the band is better right now, but I just dont see how anyone can honestly believe that they could get 10k more people to show up to this show in NYC than any of there other recent shows at T5 or United Palace.

If you are a fan, be happy for what it is. This tour they have been getting great crowds. I think they waited to see if they could fill the arenas they just played at in Australia and Manila. Since they did that, ofcourse they are gonna play at arenas in the states.

I am a fan, and I am happy for what it is. Thats why I said I would love it if they could sell out the place, I just don't think they will come even close, and I was just curious if that rumor was true, just because I found it unlikely they could play at such a big venue.

Well, when they start playing football stadiums (non festival, but their own concert), I will start to get excited, lol.

Personally, I prefer shows in smaller venues. Going to a concert at a sold out football stadium doesnt thrill me a bit. I just want them to sell enough to remain profitable so they continue to tour

Depends. If they came to New England six months ago, there would be no guarantee that I'd be able to see them due to work schedule and my car is in California. Another favourite band rolled by the area but I was unable to go because of that. I'm hoping that I can see them on tour but the way it looks right now, it's looking questionable. It's okay. I'm blessed to have seen SP many times before and to have a steady job.
