From TheMachineSomehow:

Quote

Jimmy Chamberlin's drum clinic, due 16 August, at the Chicago Drum Exchange has been postponed.

According to the shops facebook profile it's due to Chamberlin undergoing an emergency operation on one of his fingers.

One must assume the op can't be too serious though - as the clinic has only been set back by a week.

The shop's Facebook post:

Quote

Clinic Rescheduled!!! Sorry Guys Jimmy had an emergency operation on one of his fingers. Be there next Thursday August 23rd 7pm!!! Free Admission. RSVP @ http://jimmychamberl...eventbrite.com/

Here's to hoping that JC is alright.

^True. JC has a bit of a history with serious conditions though, during the Zeitgeist tour, he had a heart attack and they had to postpone a show in Atlanta [late '07/early '08ish].

I'm thinking of thousands of bad "finger jokes" but I will just censor myself and go with this message:

I am not a doctor, but I wonder why surgery on a finger would need to be an emergency.

maybe it was just a severe cut, not necessarily broken bone.

but even if there was a break, it may not be serious enough to cause permanent damage.

put some screws in there or something.

The clinic has been rescheduled for ten days away. It can't be that serious.

A finger. (i hope its not the middle one) :)/>
In this case, thank goodness its not a surgery for something much worse.

blessings go out to him and his loved ones.

GrungeReport has sent their regards:

Quote

Former Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin is having emergency surgery on his finger, which has pushed back his drum clinic today at the Chicago Drum Exchange until August 23rd at 7PM. GrungeReport.net wishes Jimmy a speedy recovery, and also wishes that Billy Corgan would get one of the greatest drummers alive back in the Smashing Pumpkins!

Nicole/Billy/Jimmy/Jeff would be the first lineup since the reformation that I could truly believe in.

Same. They've had their little break, now enough is enough. Darcy, Iha blah blah. Jimmy and Billy need each other. It's a Page/Plant, Jagger/Richards sort of divine alchemy. Those whom God hath joined together let no man put asunder!!! :rant:/>

I can get behind this. From a technical standpoint, I'd consider it the best of any Pumpkins lineup.

Jimmy gave up on Billy, why should billy take him back. Mike is doing fine. I could see it if/when Mike decides to move on.

Who said Jimmy "gave up" on Billy? Last I heard, Billy fired Jimmy for being a "destructive" personality, and for the fact that Jimmy wanted to veer away from "challenging" the audiences, ala the 20th Anniversary tour.
