This is funny because I've been going to an alteration lady for years named Madam Zulu and she also has a tea shop... Hmmm she's also Russian but looks semi-chinese. Very interesting

There has to be some capacity limit by fire code standards. Probably less than 100 people for something of that size. It is gonna be crazy crowded on the street if say 1000 people show up.

I was planning on going around 5:30. It's not really convenient and I was really hoping Billy would still be there. Anybody know if he is planning on sticking around that late?

What's interesting is that he doesn't use interesting chords as he did earlier years

Amazing. Great videos and great renditions of the songs. Billy looks to be in a fantastic mood for the event. It was such a treat to hear Jupiter's Lament and Lily. Speaking of which, who was singing on Lily? I loved that the crowd later joined in on the song.

I was there for the 3rd set at 7. I'll do my best to recall setlist...order might be wrong though.

Tonight Tonight
Luna
Soot and Stars

Next is when i think he brought a friend of his from back in the day up with him. They did a Hank Williams song, with her singing and him playing acoustic. It was very candid and included some false starts at first and I think Billy messed up at one point in the middle... they were both laughing a lot.

Violet Rays
Pinwheels

Lily - the girl up front with him wasnt the "singer" her name happened to be Lily so he asked her up. Billy asked everyone to sing along from the beginning and even passed out some lyrics sheets.

Next he took requests. He asked people to try to stump him with one of his own songs. Some asked for Bullet or 1979....Im not sure they heard what he said... I asked for Czarina (sipping tea) Ultimately he abandoned the "stump billy" idea and went with someone who said "anything off gish"

He invited that fan up by him and started to play Daydream, having the fan sing along with him. When it got to the start of the second verse he waited for the fan to take over....and the fan got the lyrics wrong. At that point Billy jokingly booed him and scrapped the rest of the song.

Last he gave 3 choices for a final song...99 Floors, Owata, SIYL....SIYL won by a big majority.

After that song he thanked everyone for coming and stayed to greet/take pictures.

Not sure if I forgot anything or if the order is right...

All in all a great night!

That would've been awesome if he'd played Czarina. 99 Floors would've been great too. But ultimately, a pretty sweet selection of tracks. Still really hoping he follows through with that acoustic tour he'd talked about doing one day.

I was in Chicago Friday night and met Billy at Resistance Pro. He was approachable and very nice. Got a few pictures with him and asked him who was on the cover of Pisces Iscariot. He paused, chuckled and said "No Comment". Man, I have always wanted to figure that one out!

On Sunday morning we drove to Highland Park to see the tower and the cover of Oceania and we stopped by Zuzu's at 1030 AM and it was closed! I was really bummed as I wanted a tea. We were really surprised it was closed, as that would be a prime time for a tea. Here is a picture of the shop. That is me in my 20th Anniversary shirt taking the photo.

cool story bro. no seriously, cool story, not trying to be disingenuous.
but I think the cover of Pisces has been solved a la reissue liner notes? It's Chris Fabian right?
