SP cameo in new iTunes video
05 December 2012 - 08:07 AM
Really nothing worth writing home about, but I was just watching the intro video for iTunes 11. Oceania is one of the covers on the person's iTunes window.
At around 1:13 or so, when talking about the new "Up Next" feature, Quasar is listed as one of the upcoming songs. :whattodo:/>
Like I said, really nothing worth writing home about. But I know ya'll appreciate the love. :cheers:/> -
Billy on CBC's Q
30 October 2012 - 12:15 PM
Just jumped in my car today, turned the usual CBC on (in Canada) only to hear Panopticon, followed by a 30 minute interview with Billy. Some of his thoughts on touring under the SP brand, the contrast between the positivity in Oceania and the nihilism in pre-Oceania SP, thoughts of continuing the SP brand beyond himself, that they're planning a 2nd album with this lineup, but arent sure what format it will take. He mentioned that he still thinks the album is dead, and contrasted it to movie and other big cultural items that are way more defining than albums these days.
Fascinating stuff. -

"Oceania is More Smashing Pumpkins Than Smashing Pumpkins"
Here's an interesting quote:
"“I have a theory about my hardcore fan base, which is that they hoped I would fail and have to go back to the original Smashing Pumpkins lineup,” Corgan says over the phone from Chicago, adding that a reunion is definitely not in the works. “I don’t see how it would work, and I keep saying it and people keep asking it, so I guess I’m a little confused because I’ve just made a really good new record. What’s more important: the reuniting of the original band or making a really good record?”" -
