I can't believe anyone would suggest James is better for RAW talent. Jeff KILLS James. That doesn't mean he's better in the pumpkins, but technical talent on the guitar there is no question about it. Jeff wins. -

Every album he has done in my opinion, has been COMPLETELY different than the last. Every album has had it's own unique style and sound. Not expecting anything but something unique with it's own sound. I guess I just don't understand how someone can expect another SD. I expect something great.
I think Oceania had more SD elements to it than any other album he has done besides SD. I think a little bit of it was intentional, but there are so many new elements in Oceania that it makes it different enough. I don't think he tried to make another SD per se, but did try to get back to some of the elements. Your statement about each album having a different sound than the LAST is true, but that doesn't mean Oceania couldn't harken back to olden days. SD was different than Gish, MCIS different than SD, Adore different than MCIS, Machina different than Adore, and so on. But like I said, it doesn't mean he couldn't go back to older sounds after a few albums. -

Is that possible?
What he wants and what he expects are different. He WANTS something different but EXPECTS Billy to do his best to re-invent SD.
