  1. what's that sound? strange FX / noises in SP songs.

    thought it might be useful to have a thread for collecting info / speculation on some of the curious sounds and production techniques used in SP's music.

    i'll start: what's the scrapey noise in the chorus of 1979? i think billy might have covered this in the TAFH guitar world article but i'm not sure if it's the same sound he's referring to.

    secondly, what's that crazy keyboard effect from 4:25 onwards in the TAFH Dreaming cover? i need to get one of those.

    similarly, is it an arpeggiator being used in the whammy bar interlude in The Boy?

    another band that captures our imaginations and our hearts as SP have done. a band with the same level of artistic vision, the same kind of larger-than-life personal chemistry between members, the same kind of depth and emotional impact in their music and artwork.
