Batman is the reason I love The Smashing Pumpkins; I know it sounds strange, but it's true.

Shortly before Batman & Robin came out, I saw the video for The End is the Beginning is the End. I had heard of the band, but not any of thier music. However, in my attempts to suck up anything Batman I watched the music video, and really loved it.

My first Smashing Pumpkins album was, of course, Siamese Dream. However, it was Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness that made me a true fan. Everything about that album: art, lyrics, music, and tour was amazing! From there on out I was a Pumpkinhead!
