lol...this is interesting...why am i a fan?....mmm....the pumpkins have this thing which i haven't found in any other group. they might not be, according to some, THE best group but in any case they make me shake emotionally and physically. their music (because i believe they all had their part...it's not only the writing thing) is so sentimental and so from the bottom of their heart, mind and soul. that's why they appeal to me in my heart, my mind, my soul.billy's lyrics can break bones, they catch all of our feelings. these two, music and lyrics, combined are a way to let some steam off. especially when you are in your adolescence (you know this weird time of our life) and you are "pushed" from every corner.
anyway, i don't know...i really like them, i liked their attitude (and now of course), their style...
in general i try to find in the mass (in every field) the one thing that's different (at least for me) and that it has a quality. and the pumpkins at their time they had this. they were not like other grunge or alternative bands. they always were...the pumpkins. and for me it is not a coincidence that their sound is one of a kind. i mean, you can find pumpkins' bits and pieces here and there in other bands, but their sound is unique.
finally i really think that they are underestimated, they always were. even now that the "new pumpkins" prove their status...
at the end of the day i think i identify myself with this band ...that's why i like the pumpkins...
